All kudos to the guy for stepping in when he deserves all the time off. Saw it mentioned here, but can't confirm, that Punk derided Moxley for drinking non-alcoholic beer. That's an asshole move. I didn't hear him say it to Mox, but it was toward the end when Punk said that Tony could have one of his seltzers, saying it wasn't "that non-alcoholic shit." Which, also a bad move, talking shit about Athletic Brewing Company since, not only has it helped Moxley stay sober, isn't that also one of AEW's sponsors? I know it's a small part of his overall holier than thou hypocrisy, but calling seltzer not "that non alcoholic shit"... THAT'S ENTIRELY THE POINT ASSHOLE!

Well, we all know that Cornette and Last would never have an axe to grind with Kenny Omega. Occam's razor points to the guy who's a very well-known asshole on the best of days, not the guys who wouldn't stop jobbing until Tony Khan made them cut it out. Also, it's truly a miracle that Punk didn't get severely injured in his MMA stint, because I have a good suspicion that his chin is made of wet sand. There hasn't been much said by other AEW wrestlers about this incident, but all of the sneaky, hinted-at tweets and social media posts have certainly seemed to be on the side of the Elite. Miro, Chuck Taylor, Hangman etc have all seemed to post stuff pointed at Punk. I don't recall seeing anything from any current AEW wrestlers that's pointed at the Elite. That's telling on how the locker room thinks. I REALLY don't like playing devils advocate here but setting the shall we say suspect source aside and just talking in a vacuum - I wouldn't expect anyone who has beef with the Elite to come down on Punk's side publicly because the Elite are still formally management, meaning they do have some level of power over talent. Punk as far as we know does not (setting aside this employee rumour for the time being). You're always more likely to see people gripe about a coworker than manager especially in a public forum. Not saying I think it's true just that social media chat isn't necessarily that illuminating.

There are quite a few things directly aimed at Punk. .

Oh yeah the guys saying that are clearly tight with the Elite I just mean I'd be hesitant to say it's a gauge of the locker room as a whole or indicative that everyone feels that way. Like yeah I think Punk almost certainly is the asshole behind the scenes (although I can see how the Elite including Page could rub people the wrong way too) and that the vast majority are on the Elite's side my point is more an ontological one. I think I mean ontological, way too long since I was a student.

If that rumor about Punk being signed as a proper employee and not the usual designation is true that's like a Master P on WCW level assf***.

A lot of AEW wrestlers, at least at first, were both contracted talent and employees with "desk jobs." So it wouldn't be unusual if Punk was doing something behind the scenes.
I don't think that's any indication of him being officially higher up on the AEW hierarchy because Tony Khan would've shouted that news from the rooftops when he first got there.

I think my favorite Cornette thread was the one where the guy thought that because we disagreed with Corny's wrestling views and thought he was an out of touch racist that we wanted him to die. Great times
Also some corn bread muffins sound outstanding right now with some brisket

Cornette is the walking equivalent of "Here's a wikipedia article about some historical writer/performer/etc you enjoy" and it's a great read until you get to the section about how they sold the Protocols of Zion to amass their fortune, being the first to offer it in paperback.

Great times Also some corn bread muffins sound outstanding right now with some brisket No lie, I'd want some Kenny Rogers corn muffins right now. On the other hand, the chicken is so dang expensive for what you get. Like, you want roast chicken here, you're better off getting a whole one from Andoks, Baliwag, or Chooks. You even get sarsa, that's Philippine gravy. Chickens from those three places are so good. Still want corn muffins. With rice, and of course chicken. Starch on starch, Asian way.

Respectfully that has nothing to do with him being a racist asshole, which he is, repeatedly, especially with Joshi women. You can't just handwave that away, if you enjoy his stuff and watch his stuff, fine, but "He's just not great talking about newer stuff" isn't the reason people hate him and why his stand alone threads are literally banned here at this point. It's too vague of a blanket statement.

Unfortunate thing is that old stuff remains old, and new stuff... well, day by day more and more new stuff appears. The dude made a racist Ethiopia joke in his last stint in a modern wrestling promotion on commentary, effectively dooming him to his podcast bubble forever. Something that NWA saw fit to keep in since it was a taped show, for some reason. And then he doubled down and didn't really apologize for it, and that's just one instance of the dude not being worth it imo.
