I saw something a few pages back. I dont wanna quote it because it looks like I'm calling out the person who posted it and it wasn't specifically their views, but I've seen this verbiage elsewhere this past week or 2 and it's getting to me.
Alright, can we please, stop using the word "cancer" to describe toxic people we don't like.
I've lost both parents to cancer. I dare say many of us here have been or will be affected by the disease at some point in our lives
It's horrible, and I've seen way too many people casually slinging it about as an insult lately.
I don't care if you side with Punk. I don't care if you side with the Elite. Calling someone "cancer" is just f***ing childish.
My apologies, but I really needed to vent this.

I listen to Cornettes Podcast sometimes, you just have to understand when he talks about older stuff he's great newer stuff not so much. Respectfully that has nothing to do with him being a racist asshole, which he is, repeatedly, especially with Joshi women. You can't just handwave that away, if you enjoy his stuff and watch his stuff, fine, but "He's just not great talking about newer stuff" isn't the reason people hate him and why his stand alone threads are literally banned here at this point. It's too vague of a blanket statement. Being too vague is a general problem here, because the very valid lambasting of everything bigot he says gets accompanied by simply stating that his views on modern wrestling are out of touch. That'll always provoke drawback from those who agree with much he has to say about modern wrestling.

I've had cancer myself, and beat it, and lost an Aunt to it. It's something that has never bothered me as an insult, but I can absolutely see where you're coming from I've heard the phrase "locker room cancer" or that there of for almost my entire life, I don't consider it childish, I consider it calling someone a disease that slowly kills something or poisons it. And in a lot of cases, that's close to what is happening to a culture because of said person. It's gonna be a case by case basis imo, I think a lot of people have used irl diseases or situations as insults for people they don't like, and cancer is just a general bad connotation to give to someone, and imo, is not outright insulting or downplaying people who have had cancer or lost loved ones to it in their lives. But again, I get how it wouldn't be the most prudent thing to hear, when it's been a very personal topic for you. I don't really think you can tell everyone to stop saying the term, but I haven't used it before and have no plans to use it in the future, and maybe some people will also understand and stop too. I hope you're doing well, and I'm sorry you had to go through that bud.

Unfortunate thing is that old stuff remains old, and new stuff... well, day by day more and more new stuff appears. The dude made a racist Ethiopia joke in his last stint in a modern wrestling promotion on commentary, effectively dooming him to his podcast bubble forever. Something that NWA saw fit to keep in since it was a taped show, for some reason. And then he doubled down and didn't really apologize for it, and that's just one instance of the dude not being worth it imo. And as Speaking Out proved a bit later, the guy responsible for editing the show, Dave Lagana, was no saint himself.

While the topic is on Cornette, I want to express my frustration with the genre of post that's like, "Even Cornette liked this AEW thing!", as if the problem with Cornette is that he hates on AEW and not, y'know, the racism.

If Kenny is in Japan promoting the game at TGS, I think it's safe to say that his suspension is over too. At least as far as outright working for the company goes.

If Kenny’s suspension is over as well then having Omega vs Danielson II in AEW’s back pocket could help the main event scene a lot.

Something that's really disheartening about all this is that Punk is just going to continue this 'they're all wrong, I'm right, how dare they say anything against me' mentality. He's not going to do some self-reflection, see all the reaction to this and go 'huh, you know what, maybe I do need to change how I see things'. Dude is just incapable of admitting when he's f***ed up, swallowing his pride, or showing a willingness to learn from this shit. 'The world vs CM Punk' is just something he's subscribed to for so long, he can't see it any other way. It’s appropriate Cornette’s coming off like his biggest supporter in all this. We'll yeah. He's a wrestling personality and podcaster with an obvious bias. He isn't a source for any news. He's a source for commentary. And his "commentary" is nothing more than making wild, near libelous accusations against the Bucks and especially Omega. Not to mention being a sexist racist bigot as well. He said something particularly vile about Kenny in discussing the ins and outs of this situation. Again, it’s pathetic. I think the Elite being cancer stuff may be wrong but there have been rumblings throughout that the Elite may not be as universally loved as people think. A lot of heresy for sure but it seems like Punk's heat from everybody is how he handled the PC. Again not saying Punk is in the right as clearly he isn't but I wouldn't discard that there are talent that aren't big fans of Kenny and the Bucks either I’m kind of willing to believe some of the talent that had nothing to do with this would look at all this like a bunch of ego’s clashing..but I still think it’s mainly Punk if I were a betting man.

Apparently it was added that Kenny is NOT there for the company, so not sure how that works. he is there for the game but not for AEW.

I genuinely don't care if people listen to Cornette, and no one has to justify why they listen to him to me. I personally think he's an out of touch, racist, bigot, shock jock who has used the exact same tactics as a certain WWE Hall of Famer he claims to revile to cultivate his fanbase but, whatever, I know that people listen to him.
I do absolutely have a problem with literally anything he says being treated as news. I would assume that's the reason he's apparently a banned source and topic on this forum (this will be the last I say anything about him). I wish other places would do the same. It's infuriating to see something along the lines of "Hangman Page BLAMED for causing AEW backstage drama" from some source like "WRESTLING NEWS NOW" on Facebook, with a hundred morons in the comment section roasting Hangman, and then you click the link and it's a quote from Cornette's stupid, vile podcast.

LOL Kenny over there at the convention promoting an AEW game on his own. He’s gone rogue!

Just to clarify. To me, Cornette is vile for the negative bile he has spewed out.
I just find it bemusing that he and Punk are seemingly stuck in the past which tanked the opinions of everyone for good reason.

Apparently it was added that Kenny is NOT there for the company, so not sure how that works. he is there for the game but not for AEW. AEW is only a license for the game. The game itself is published by THQ Nordic, so they would be the one booking Kenny to be there if they did. He was, however, in that small segment yesterday promoting Like A Dragon: Isshin from Playstation's State Of Play (hence why he was at the SEGA offices).

It's actually having to be an adult now that's the harder part. But it's just something that doesn't sit right with me. I've got it off my chest now. Anyway, back to the discussion. I don't wanna derail this thread in any way.
