Yeah, I don't buy that argument from Punk. Maybe if the Bucks had gone in alone, but as they apparently had the head of legal with them, that's a sign that they didn't intend to get physical at all. If you're going to fight someone, you don't take the legal team with you unless you're an absolute dumbass looking to get fired/arrested.
As for the Omega line, that's a good bit of banter (especially if he did stare at Ospreay as he said it) but probably not the best time and place.

I mean, if Matt was brandishing a chain or brass knuckles threateningly I'd be a bit more understanding, but what the actual shit is this as any kind of explanation. EDIT: And as for whatever Kenny said in the meeting, I honestly have no opinion whatsoever. Wasn't there, have no clue how it was said, so lack any and all context to know how it was intended and/or received. Sounds like it was meant as a joke, but without context I can't fully say if Kenny was wrong to crack it at that point or if the person talking about it to the sheets is just being overly touchy. |

I mean, if Matt was brandishing a chain or brass knuckles threateningly I'd be a bit more understanding, but what the actual shit is this as any kind of explanation. EDIT: And as for whatever Kenny said in the meeting, I honestly have no opinion whatsoever. Wasn't there, have no clue how it was said, so lack any and all context to know how it was intended and/or received. Sounds like it was meant as a joke, but without context I can't fully say if Kenny was wrong to crack it at that point or if the person talking about it to the sheets is just being overly touchy. I trust zero wrestling news reporters for a lot of reason, but if that's even remotely true... a halfway decent lawyer is going to carve Punk up. Could just be that all this radio-silence is just making sure that you don't snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. |

Then you add how The Elite brought along Talent Relations and Legal personnel, and this story quickly goes from “the EVPs are going to jump Punk” to “executives go to discuss public remarks made by an employee (as the employee requested)” here.
