Independent journalists have to make money somehow. Trust me, it sucks being a freelancer. Not like they have an ad revenue or anything to supplement employee's paychecks. Honestly glad I'm a subscriber. Cool getting Raw notes before the show and they've broken quite a few big stories the past couple years. Oh for sure, I don't take any issue with the principle of Fightful Select existing behind a paywall, nor any issue with SRS or whoever. I get it. Got to admit though, it's a complete non-update, isn't it |

The ultimate hilarious outcome would be for WWE to offer Colt a deal (whether it be for on-screen or as a coach) and them not offer Punk anything.

Occasionally, I like to remind myself that this thread started not because of the fight, but because of the media scrum. Who knew that 600+ pages later, the Elite would still be off TV eight weeks later, Ace Steel would be a cannibal, and CM Punk would potentially be out of the company and on his way to WWE.

I actually want to see Punk in WWE purely for the chaos. I want to see how long he lasts before a 600+ page thread happens in the WWE section. Yep. My guess is he’s back in WWE within a year of getting cleared. And if that’s the case, they’ll deserve every benefit, success and everything else that comes with it. Punk’s going to get mad ratings wherever he shows up next. He’s just not going to get the benefit of the doubt from fans or likely staff anymore. The sentiment is no longer “welcome back Punk, you were done so dirty” and now his drawing power lies in “holy crap, what insanity is this cola and muffin fueled madman going to unleash?” |

There's a part of me now that wants to see Colt Cabana have a proper career renaissance after all this and just be the better man in numerous senses of the term. There's also a part of me that wants Colt or another Chicago-based wrestler to reclaim the Chicago flag motif from Punk just to see him melt down even harder and try to sue over something that was never his to copyright. This past Dynamite, Jericho vowed to take out all former ROH champions, naming World, Pure, and even Women's. He has a mystery opponent next week. Colt is a former ROH Tag Team champion (with one Phil Brooks). Maybe they wait to bring back Colt at the net Chicago show, but this would be the ultimate vindication and show of force to where the company is going. Do it Tony, you mad man! BOOM BOOM! |
