Yeah it was petty by AEW. So what? I won't be crying any tears for Punk over it.

They should have played the opening riff of "Cult of Personality", then cut to Colt's theme.

Even if it was petty, there's enough buzz surrounding Colt that doing it now made more sense than doing it in a year or so. By then Jericho won't be champion anyway and the story is over.

Yeah it was petty by AEW. So what? I won't be crying any tears for Punk over it. I expect more than pettiness from a million/billion dollar company. I thought WWE was bad when it came to that, guess AEW isn’t that different.

It was more like "Thank you Punk for not only ruining my original booking plans for also burying the company, locker room and assaulting people"

I thought it was really, really funny. Match was pretty bad, but worth it for the entrance alone.

I thought WWE was bad when it came to that, guess AEW isn’t that different. Meh, WWE would have brought him out to Punk's music, made tons of jabs on commentary. This is taking a guy who was dragged into this out of nowhere, wasn't anywhere near any of the incidents and putting him into a match which is relevant to an ongoing angle. Or should Colt just be banished forever because Punk brought him up. It's as good a use of him as you could have right now. This is lightyears away.

I had a chocolate muffin for breakfast this morning and I don't think I've ever had a muffin taste as good.
Is this whole thing petty? Extremely. But it's also the perfect coda for this entire debacle - plus it gives Colt a well-deserved moment in the sun.
Eat shit, Punk. Don't come back.

AEW booked a guy employed by their company and who fits in the ROH storyline. He’s also a guy who got dragged into this situation through no fault of his own. They made no snarky remarks about Punk or the situation. Cabana came out and wrestled a match. And the response here is I THOUGHT AEW WAS BETTER THAN THIS.

On the scale of pettiness, this was a smidge above Hangman Page promo he cut from Punk but way below WWE firing Punk on his wedding day.

I like Punk and I would like to see him return one day, but if the colt thing was a shot at him, he 100% deserves it lol

Billionaire Ted, Dusty & Flair sniping at each other on TBS, Bill Watts shitting on the WWF, Bischoff giving results on Nitro, NJPW booking against the UWFi(who also badmouthed NJPW, AJPW and others) and Prazak on The TERMINUS are just many examples of this petty ass business.

Sure, there were some subtle jabs, a la “Marcia Cabana’s baby boy,” but nothing so on the nose that people watching the show who are unfamiliar with the situation would recognize that CM Punk was being insulted. So to me, it was the perfect kind of pettiness. Enough that people who know the situation could have a chuckle and recognize that AEW is conclusively stating that it is done with CM Punk, but subtle enough that it didn’t detract from the show. In WWE, Colt would have come out to Cult of Personality and talked about how far his old friend Phil Brooks has fallen. It’s not at all the same. Just booking Colt Cabana in a match isn’t an issue. Is he just not supposed to ever work anymore?

In having more time to reflect, it's not petty but it is pandering. And honestly? I can't say I blame them. Punk made himself the villain and this was an opportunity for the company to come out looking like a babyface.

Hey if we take Punk at his word, he couldn't care less about what happened last night.
