This is exactly what I was stating too and being lambasted for it. It's probably your delivery on your posts but at times reading them you do come off more as a concern troll more often than not. I have made mention of that before that it's my delivery and ultimately my opinion that i do not form based around the general perception. A concern troll is out to get kicks...I simply just state good or bad what my perception of the situation is and if people dont like it theres a block button for a reason. Certainly not intentionally trying to piss people off but it feels like everyone expects rainbows and butterflies and that simply isn't the case. I could turn around and say labels are placed on every single person or post that doesn't fit but I don't continually push that argument and try to label someone as something other than themselves. This place has already went through alot of this with the rise and fall of TNA but I have to admit that pitchforks and lines in the sand have been a lot more prevalent this time.

Loving all of the melted weirdos elsewhere talking about how Tony "chose" The Elite "over" CM Punk as if you can make the company look bad and jump your bosses and like that's totally a fine and valid thing to do. They are the QAnon of online wrestling discourse. That's what they are. Full stop. Can we stop making that weird political implication? As far as Punk has fallen, I don't think he'd want his supporters being tarred with THAT brush.

There were assuredly in production months ago. If the wheels were already in motion and there's money to be made, might as well release them now when they will never be sellable at any other time ever.

The video game cover is such a crazy example of this to me. Front dead and center too lol

Probably was developed before the whole debacle. The CM Punk ones will end up in the Dollar Tree by the end of the year.

Glad you made mention of people hate watching WWE before deleting it...Interestingly enough these are usually the same people that constantly ride me for participating in the AEW section. I barely even participate in the WWE section so it's even more blah to constantly be labeled something

The question is will they still keep Punk in the video game Probably because it's just too much work at this point to take him out. I'm just guessing that THQ's art department will come up with new cover art.

Colt Cabana sure didn’t seem dehumanized on TV when he was clearly happy and explicitly tweeted that he loved wrestling afterwards. So I’m going to go with the idea that Colt was happy instead of the armchair psychology. Colt can be happy, but it doesn't change the fact that AEW simply used him because of the Punk situation. If the situation wasn't what it is, then Colt may not have had that opportunity. It doesn't mean we can't be happy for him, and that he can't be happy for himself...but it doesn't change the reason behind it, and that's what I don't like. That doesn't change the fact that Punk is a terrible human being, but trying to troll him by using Colt without actually wanting to do anything more with them...that does not sit well with me.

Timeline recap:
Colt gives his then-friend a platform to vent and tell his in-demand story.
The story gets the duo sued by a now-fired doctor.
Rich Punk says he'll cover legal bills. Doesn't. Somehow sues Colt. Friendship over.
Colt gets job, likely with vouching from current friends (Young Bucks, etc.).
Punk gets a job - because money (and the demand that will lead to more money). Colt disappears from broadcast product due to past.
Punk opens a whole can of muffins. Everyone is mad at his fool for airing his petty grievances and calling out names, who he then challenge to a fight. As the bridge-burning aggressor, he will surely never be seen again in AEW.
Moving on from this flawed reign and era (and in service of a different storyline), the still-employed Colt comes back for a feel good, morale-boosting match.
The has been turned. AEW talent can get back to business as the dark clouds float away.
>>I see nothing wrong here given the situation.

I truly hope that is the eventual fallout...I am actually really interested in the whole "Delete the Elite" promo packages they are playing right now. AEW truly without the Elite is basically impossible considering their freakin name is in the company title...One of the most glaring yet seemingly harmless mistakes I feel they made with the conception of AEW. I am admittedly not a fan of them at all but those packages and they way they are edited is awesome.

But they do want to do more with him; Colt is on a Ring of Honor contract and has worked every ROH show Tony has booked so far. Whatever the merits of why he fell off from showing up on AEW and what his role was reduced over, there has been intent to use him since all of this went down. Hell, giving him a big return pop and letting him try to stand up for ROH against Jericho can be coloured by the Punk thing without seeing Colt as entirely just a weapon; there's a very humanizing path to consider in "Sorry that you got thrust into the spotlight while you have sat there being silent and doing literally nothing wrong, we're gonna put you out in tfront of the fans, they're going to cheer for you, you should get this".

The question is will they still keep Punk in the video game Probably, though I don't think they will ask magazines not to show CM Punk in a vunerable position.

The true question is if the general public is confusing his importance to indie wrestling as whole with the podcasts, network security/pirating precautions, shoot videos, etc that Cabana pioneered than his actual importance to ROH in front of the camera which by in large is pretty nominal outside of his youshoots and tag runs with Punk.

It's really not the true question at all.
