I was stoked about it up through the MJF feud.
But since then his return has caused so much f***ery in the world title scene and behind the scenes.
He's just a liability now, and I think that's the last image we'll have of him. If he had the means, he should've stayed retired.

Yes. Great moment and we got some great angles, but the guy f***ed up and showed he hasn't grown out of his worst habits. If he's gone for good, I won't really miss him.
I say that as a former fan of the guy, but I'm used to this kind of thing. I have a bad habit of marking out for performers who end up saying/doing something horribly stupid. Disappointing though it is, I'm well-practiced at sighing, shrugging and moving on.

A few weeks ago I would have answered no but after what he's done I say good riddance.

...I mean it's really going to depend on the fallout of everything that happens from Sunday's events.

Yes. I'm happy he came back, happy he put on some real bangers of matches and happy he won the world title.
It's just really sad that a guy who i've been a big fan of ever since i first saw him WWECW i now don't really want to see again.

Got some great matches and promos out of it. My wrestling experience was richer for it.
And hell, he went out in a way I'll certainly remember.
Screw it. AEW has shown they will do fine as far as shows. Punk has, in a weird way, given me closure as a fan by showing his ass in such a spectacular fashion. I'm happy it all happened.

I enjoyed the whole damn thing up to and including the media scrum, which is the gift that keeps giving, so overall, sure. I wasn’t sure how invested I’d be in him, since his UFC run soured me on him greatly, but as someone who is basically all but checked out of all wrestling so I don’t care much one way or the other about anything, he did manage to get me interested in some things again.

Yes but in retrospect I'd be even happier if he'd left again after the MJF fued.

Absolutely. He still had an excellent first year in the company and it was better than I expected it to be. If we just stop the clock at him breaking his foot, then it was all awesome.

Yes. His return was a big deal and it looked like he had turned a corner and was going to work with the new stars and make a positive contribution while still being a big star and stick it to the WWE toor…..shame he flamed out.
It’s exactly like that half-assed promo that he did once(maybe it was on LiveJournal, can’t remember) where the snake is on the river bank trying to get to the other side and a turtle swims over and offers to help only for the snake to bite him halfway across and as they both drown the turtle asks why and the snake replies “because I’m a snake”

I was very much in the minority in not particularly wanting him back in the first place, partly because I only caught small parts of his WWE run and therefore didn't have that connection to him, and partly just because I felt the business had moved on without him. I can't deny that his return episode felt iconic, but beyond that nothing massively connected with me personally and once he ascended to the title scene I felt it went downhill quickly.
With him potentially gone, it already feels like AEW is the focus again (although I would like to see the Elite back sooner rather than later) and they can get back to putting on the great in-ring product they had before rather than catering to the whims of an egomanic fading star.

Yes I am. I enjoyed every second of him on TV. He’s a generational talent who gave me a lot of neat moments to enjoy and look back on.
Could have had a lot more if he had ever bothered to pull the stick out of his ass.

Yes, and if he goes, my interest in AEW most likely goes with him. I was already becoming bored with AEW before he showed up.

It was a moment where Hell froze over and we thought we'd never see. It was a great moment and Punk being an asshat cannot take away from that. I and many people here were optimistic he grew as a person and came back to prove himself. In hindsight this comeback may have been one giant ego stroke and he became the thing he was fighting but still a great time.

Yes, and if he goes, my interest in AEW most likely goes with him. I was already becoming bored with AEW before he showed up. I do have to ask, does one man really make a great show? Just a question because I've seen people echo your sentiment and I'm baffled by it because the product became something else entirely with him at the forefront. Whether or not it was better is up to you.

Overall, it’s been a fantastic run I feel. A lot of great matches and promos. MJF vs Punk is right up there among the best feuds of the past 10 years.
It just really sucks it’s kinda tarnished because of what his behavior. That’s why it hurts so much because he had a great run.

I feel like I might be overreacting, but right now? No, I'm not.
I think losing Punk especially this way will potentially do more damage than the ground they have gained from having him.
So I guess we will wait and see. But I find it pretty hard to enjoy his super babyface AEW year when he is such a colossal asshole in reality.
