I feel like I might be overreacting, but right now? No, I'm not. I think losing Punk especially this way will potentially do more damage than the ground they have gained from having him. So I guess we will wait and see. But I find it pretty hard to enjoy his super babyface AEW year when he is such a colossal asshole in reality. If this is the end of the in-ring career of CM Punk, then his last act was to go over Jon Moxley then absolutely bury Hangman Page and The Elite. I don't think you are overreacting in the slightest.

I think I need to see what happens first. His comeback was genuinely amazing and the Punk/MJF feud is one of my favourites ever, but I don't know if he's worth all the trouble.

Eh, I'm still happy he came back and if Punk's career ends with winning the title in his hometown (and selfishly, me being there live to see it), I can't ask for much more.
That said, dude has nothing left for me to possibly give a shit about.

I was happy for his run up until this past month or so. I enjoyed his feud with MJF and wished they did more with him and Kingston as I thought they had more meat on the bone for that feud.

Like, yeah. It felt like a feel good moment. And him coming in to Miseria Cantare felt great. After that, I thought he was part of the roster.
It's not part of the thread title's question but my participation in threads pretty much spell out how I feel. In hindsight, it does make me feel that compared to the established big names that came in beforehand that he lacked something, some sort of effort perhaps, that shows progress.

It's weird, it looks like it's gonna end in tears and my personal opinion of the man has nosedived, but it was still cool to see one of my childhood heroes wrestle again before it all went sour. His matches with MJF and Eddie were legit great, too.
