A few Ugly American questions if I may for my fellow Brits: - What happens now? I mean, that monster queue and the outpouring means there is an insane level of respect and affection. But Windsor Castle and St George’s Chapel isn’t exactly a public space. Will there be opportunities for the public to pay respects and lay flowers for Elizabeth and Phillip? - Without getting political, is there desire for Americans to come and visit? Between my diabetes and my passing cursory knowledge on England and the Royals, would it be worth time and money to come to England, Scotland and Ireland to try and learn first hand? I think that’s all I got. Just… curious on the one hand and not wishing to be a yokel or a burden if I were to visit. Americans can visit this blessed kingdom, but you must first ask forgiveness for your 1776 treachery. Yokels however, are not permitted. They were banned by King Christopher The Doommaker in 1572, following the Great Yokel Uprising.

Susanna Reid and Tim Vine also queued for hours. Shame Schofield and Willoughby didn’t get the memo. He's brought shame upon the Broom Cupboard. You'd never catch Andi Peters jumping the queue. One of the interesting things here is trying to guess how many people in the crowds are secret service types, and how many marksmen there are hidden in trees and things along the route. Also interesting to see that even a funeral isn't immune to gits holding phones and iPads up to record the entire thing.
That bastard Andy Crane though! He’d queue jump without even thinking about it. And don’t get me started on Toby Anstis.

Phillip Schofield will get his punishment when King Charles III has him literally tied up in a knot like in those stupid adverts he does.
The King was quoted as saying "Yes, there is a sadistic irony to it all, isn't there?"

Then again, my issues may be more with Lord North versus the king, so there’s that.

Pardon my humor, but was disappointed to see during the Windsor services that the Imperial Crown, Orb and Scepter were gimmicked in place. I thought the bearers were really that good keeping the coffin that stable and level.

Considering the coffin is lined in lead and required eight bearers instead of the usually six due to the weight, probably best to gimmick them.

I mean, given that they have to iron his shoelaces and put his toothpaste on his brush for him...

A lead lined coffin or a lead coffin inside the wooden one? Given it was over 500 pounds, could go either way.

Lead-lined, traditional oak construction intended to keep out moisture. Take after popes then. Catholic popes go triple - wooden coffin inside a lead coffin inside a larger wooden coffin.

Sort of a macabre question but does anyone know the last time "God Save The Queen" was song as the national anthem? Speaking in terms of major public events only.

The Women's Euro final at the end of July, maybe? Would've been later than that, the England vs. South Africa cricket tests were in mid/late August. In fact, had it not absolutely pissed with rain on the first morning of the final test preventing any play, God Save The Queen would've been sung at the Oval on the morning she died.

Now the funeral is over perhaps we can get round to giving proper respect and mourn the death of another UK Matriach. Gwyneth Powell, who played Headmistress Mrs.McClusky in Grange Hill died the same day as Liz.

Yeah, like the day Michael Jackson died. Even though Farrah Fawcett died earlier in the day and I’m sure other stuff happened, no one else remembers a bloody thing.

48 hours later, I’m still moved by how every detail was organized from services to processions. A fitting tribute to Her Majesty.
Those who attended either in the queues or observed from the roadsides shall never forget this week.

Which version, the offical one or the Sex Pistols one? Decades ago at a GCCW show they had a wrestler that claimed he was from the UK. So most shows he came out to God Save the Queen. As a joke at one show the sound dude switched his song to the Sex Pistols God Save the Queen. I heard the opening notes started cheering and was the only person in the crowd singing along. The wrestler that claimed he was from the UK,was legit from Grand Bay Alabama and sounded like Slingblade.
