I see the PWI 500 is out. But I could care less who's number #1. There is no point in getting mad over a ranking that was decided by editors. The only thing cool about it is it gives validation to independent wrestlers & helps their career.

Aren't these fairly kayfabe? If so, yeah, it basically has to be him, anyhow. Still, good for him and his fans.
These things are like Meltzer ratings in that they shouldn't go to anyone's head, but, they do make a material difference. I forget who it was, someone like Evil Uno or maybe Mack or someone, but they said that making it onto these lists can help get you noticed. Of course, whoever it was came up in a different era of indies than where we are now, where a gif on Twitter can change someone's career trajectory, but I doubt it hurts one bit to get some press, even if you're at number 472 or something.

Eh, not a bad choice IMO. I get the vibe some voters and fans are a bit Okada’ed out, and while Roman is on a monster title run himself he hasn’t been in this Tribal Chief gimmick as long as Okada has with the Rainmaker (with slight shifts like his Balloonmaker phase or his recent Inoki nods with the classic robe).

Two things never fail to astound me:
1. PWI still exists (I’m glad about this, though; loved the Apter mags when I was kid)
2. People actually get legitimately upset about this list.

Nothing against the guy but how is Big E in the top ten when he's been out for almost the whole year? I know he had the title but he lost it literally the first day of the year.
Does anyone remember what the grading period was again? Isn't it like something like September the previous year to August the following year?
