As a Jew, I have to laugh at a lot of the ridiculously antisemitic ones. Because some of them are so ridiculous sounding. That and if I don't laugh at them, I cry instead that people are both that stupid and that full of hate. My favorite ridiculous one lately is we control artificial satellites that fire lasers that cause the California forest fires. I just watched JFK for the first time a few weeks ago. I actually liked it. I'm also fascinated by the JFK conspiracies. It's a good movie, but it's utter nonsense. Oswald killed Kennedy alone. One rifle, two hits. First hit struck both guys. Second hit was the kill shot. The Zapruder film alone is enough evidence as it clearly shows both men reacting almost instantaneously to the first hit on Kennedy. Every theory that implies otherwise has been conclusively debunked by any reasonable standard. JFK was a giant load of BS. Oswald was the shooter no doubt. No second shooter, no grassy knoll, no Secret Service misfire. Now there is the possibility of him having some kind of backing. Mob or otherwise. But with no one being able to uncover any actual evidence after all this time it seems less and less likely. |

Even though it was a parody theory, the fact that people actually believed birds don't exist and they're actually government drones collecting personal data etc. makes me laugh. That and the whole flat Earth or faked moon landings BS.

One of my favourite things I've watched is the documentary on Netflix, where it climaxes on a big experiment by some "if the works is round, then at this distance, X should happen", the camera shows it happening, the last second of the movie is "Oh." Yes, I saw that one. I wonder how many flats earthers are just going with it for a bit of fun and winding people up. Also in the mind of a flatearther, what benefit is it to all the world's governments to agree with telling people the world is a sphere when it isn't? What's the reason for it? I have a childhood friend who is sadly a devout flatearther, and for him, at least, it's a religious conspiracy. See, back when God created the universe, he put the (flat) Earth in the center, and put his people on it, and made everything else revolve around it. But Satan doesn't want people to believe they are the center of the universe, because if people believe they aren't God's special children and they don't matter in the grand scheme of things, they are more likely to do evil. So he got his agents to spread the lie that the Earth is just like every other planet and the Sun is in the center. His agents being, of course, every member of every government on Earth for thousands of years. And all the astronauts and international pilots. Oh, and all the ship's navigators throughout history, too. Satanists. Every one of them. |

None. Since I realised that most of them are just barely veiled attempts to drum up antisemitism, I stopped having an interest in them. This and as a former government employee, i quickly realized that almost no one in the government is smart enough (or cares enough) to take part in them. Like, we can't even process basic things in a timely manner. If you regularly meet top ranking politicians in any western country you will also realize that only a few of them are actually impressively smart. The defense secretary of a major NATO power, on the young side of Gen X, once asked a friend of mine why they couldn't load Windows 10 onto a chromebook. In their position - they were also previously minister for technology and essentially responsible for running the department that procured all of the government's office equipment - you could probably question their competence if they bought a bunch of Chromebooks with the expectation of running windows on them, yeah. |

Rumour I've read that sounds plausible is the Titanic was actually it's sister ship Olympic. That is, the Olympic was dressed up as the Titanic and set sail. Reason being it's the mother of insurance scams as the Olympic was damaged a year prior and too expensive to repair so they let it sink. |

I've seen plenty of claims Oswald could not (at least, not accurately enough) based on his marksmanship qualifications in the military, but the CBS test alone was pretty conclusive. |

The more steps there are to a plan the more chances there are of something going wrong, and the more people who are involved the bigger chance that somebody is going to talk. The most successful conspiracies that turned out to be true are generally quite simple plans with a handful of people involved, and even those got found out eventually. Something as complex as a lot of the popular conspiracies out there remaining undetected for decades strains credibility to its limit. |

Of course, most conspiracy theories begin on a false premise and snowball from there, such as the assertion that there had to be a second gunman at Deeley Plaza because Oswald's rifle could not fire three shots in six seconds, or 9/11 being a controlled demolition because no skyscraper had ever been brought down by fire (conveniently ignoring that no skyscraper had ever been hit by a fully-fuelled, fully-laden passenger jet either). |
