So they lost against two of the top women in the WWE, how is this a bad thing? Is this board going to lose it's shit when Asuka and Alexa go on a winning streak, or when they lose the odd match? Because whatever happens someone here will moan about it, because that is apparently what we do.

They lost against a makeshift tag team at a time where Damage CTRL needed incredibly strong booking if they were to be salvaged. And they didn't get that last night, especially Iyo.

Holy overreaction Batman. This place is wild when Iyo loses a match, and Bianca/Ronda/Charlotte win. Kind of funny how Bianca is now looked at as too strong after how upset everyone here was when they “ruined” her by losing to Becky in a few seconds. Also, you would think that the same way she was “ruined” (as in, she wasn’t) would give people hope for Iyo and Dakota when they lose but it still seems like everyone is saying they’re dead in the water. It's because you don't see fans scrambling to defend Iyo and Dakota because their booking has been piss poor for awhile and they just aren't liked in general by casual viewers, because they keep getting geeked out constantly. This wasn't a flash moment that sparked severe backlash. It has been a death of a thousand cuts kind of booking. I’m pretty sure people complained about the percentage of offense Sky was getting against Bianca in Sky’s first match on the main roster and how she was doomed and being ruined because of it. And I mean I’d argue the “severe backlash” here is the same 3-4 people making a lot of posts.

I heard Triple H told Iyo "I am going to have you lose the tag titles tonight because I am racist" and then burned a doll of Rossy Ogawa in effigy

Kairi got booked horribly and now it’s Io’s turn. Looks like Mayu’s the only one smart enough to stay away from the WWE.

The booking of the women had been just as bad as when Vince was in charge,I just don't understand how hard it is to book these talented women better the they do.

And I get it, the roster’s thin so you gotta be a bit more casual with tv matches than you’d like but then maybe don’t put three valuable pieces together like this?? Spread the wealth and all that. But no, Y’all wanted to do the stable.
Like dawg, they don’t gotta be the Bloodline but you’ve de-fanged them before they’ve even sunk their teeth into anything. Right now, they’re just A Group. And it’s to the point where that continues even if Bayley wins at Crown Jewel. Certainly worse spots to be but at the same time, you gotta be a little more careful with your supposed top acts. And again, that’s not me just saying that they are a top act, WWE is actively trying to position them as such. So…quit being f***ing scary and book a top heel faction, haha.

Asuka and Alexa Bliss are two of the top and most popular woman wrestlers in the world right now, stop acting like Iyo lost to Dana Brooks or Tamina. She’ll be fine guys. Sometimes, your favorite looses, it happens, sheesh

Sometimes, your favorite looses, it happens, sheesh The issue is they made Iyo look really bad in the match. Having her not only tap out but get pinned makes her look incredibly weak. And as of late, Iyo has been the one eating all of the pins whenever Damage CTRL does lose. If they had spread it around (like maybe have Dakota do the visible tapping), it probably wouldn't be as big of a deal. But they are very clearly painting Iyo as the weak link and worst member of Damage CTRL.

You’re argument is valid and yeah, and I could see how that would upsetting, I honestly don’t think it’s going to damage her in the long run. What’s funny is all these hyperbolic takes in a short amount of time sence they lost last night, “ obviously Triple H hates Iyo and Dakota”, “the booking of the woman is just as bad now then it was before” “ Damage CTRL are a bust” “WWE don’t care about women wrestling” The woman main evented Raw and Asuka and Alexa even got the pyro treatment when they won the titles to close the show, doesn’t sound like a “WWE hates woman wrestling” booking to me, Iyo and Dakota will be fine.

But the reality is 99% of the audience is going to forget the majority of the match in two weeks and just remember that Alexa and Asuka, the people they want us to cheer, won. Triple H just took over about a calendar quarter ago and it takes time to put the chess pieces in place. They're still bringing back women to help fill out the roster, certain NXT women are getting looks and probably a few months from showing up too. The original intent of Damage CTRL was to get Dakota and Iyo main roster reps. Is the actual group working creatively? Perhaps it could be better, but it's doing the job that was intended, which is getting them visibility and exposure alongside a well-known name in Bayley. Triple H also clearly has to like Iyo, or he wouldn't have made her the focus of the women's division for nearly a year. If Iyo came in and just immediately won everything, that wouldn't have worked either. As they continue to build out the roster, I think it'd be time for them to consider a women's midcard title which might help alleviate some of this stuff, but for now, I really think that even if Damage CTRL may be lame, Io and Dakota are being primed for solid main roster runs. The reaction here is kind of like if people were like "Oh my god, Sasha Banks lost a match in Team BAD, she's ruined." And look at the career she's gone on to have. Iyo and Dakota may not be at THAT level, but people really need to see where this goes. If we're sitting here in August and they're losing left and right, that'd be one thing. That won't be the case, though.

Iyo more or less jobbing twice was lame and I could understand that being upsetting if you are fan of hers. They should've at least had Dakota take one of those. However I really don't have any issue with Damage CTRL losing the match in general though. They kayfabe injured Alexa and Asuka so the babyfaces coming back and getting revenge on them with a nice feel good surprise title win was a cool little moment and I think the right call. I said it in another thread but with the Women's Tag Titles you kind of have to do title changes often because they just simply don't have enough teams to do long reigns or you risk burning through everyone too quick.
When it comes to Damage CTRL in general with their booking the only headscratcher result was Bayley losing to Candice LeRae for no reason the night after Extreme Rules despite them planning to do another Bianca/Bayley title match at Crown Jewel. They win the majority of their matches and are treated like a threat but aren't booked like unstoppable world beaters who have all the belts and rule the division with an iron fist. Which is fine as we already have that in the men's division with the Bloodline. Having two at the same time would be too much.

This is why I think Triple H has no idea what he's doing with the women. Either you hand Damage CTRL another loss or you did yet another dumbass swerve for no reason if they regain the titles.

Candice needed a win to establish herself and Bayley's got her heat back now anyways. We've got enough world beating champions and groups between Roman, Bloodline, Toxic Attraction in NXT, Gunther, etc. I think a belt that gets hot-shotted around a bit is fine. I don't need it for EVERY title, but I get why they're doing it now.

What’s wrong with Alexa’s hand in that photo? It looks like it belongs to the crypt keeper wearing nail polish.

Okay why not change the tag titles there and not hotshotting it on RAW? Either your heel stable eats two tag title losses in a single week or they randomly win it back after four days.

I dunno. People complain there are too many long title reigns these days, yet the women's tag belts are getting exchanged left, right and center. I kind of like it.
