It’s also the fact that JAS win the vast majority of the time. And even when they lose, it never feels like they truly lose.
Why TF Tony thought this was a good idea to do to Eddie in NEW YORK of all places is beyond me?

It's Luger at SS 93 booking

Tay was part of, in my opinion, two of the best AEW women's division matches (v Britt and the hardcore tag with Anna Jay v the Bunny and Penelope Ford) and I hate that she just stands looking cute at ringside now. She needs away from JAS yesterday.

It'll go down in the records as another loss. No matter how much you try to spin it or say let's see where this goes, when it was time for him to finally win, he winded up losing.

I mean Tony Khan himself said that the overturning was bullshit and was pissed that Sammy was celebrating it like he actually did something So yeah Eddie lost because of his inability to release the hold and Paul Turner's decision, but a storyline is a storyline, and it seems to be pretty emphasized that it's part of the beat I'm one of the biggest Kingston fans here, I'm just willing to, as you said, see where it goes, I'm not pissed about it because it's pretty obvious they're setting up stuff. I don't really think this is me trying to spin anything, I'm just taking in the info they give me as a fan. Tony Khan does not value DQ wins very highly.

is this the longest uninterrupted feud since Austin/McMahon? I don’t think the fans ever wanted Austin and Vince to end. This garbage though…

In general Tony Khan seems to operate under the delusion that a story is automatically good just because it's long.

Part of the reason why I hate this kind of finish is that it is so inconsistently applied. How many post match beatings does AEW do, A LOT.
Also if you want to kayfabe “punish” someone, that’s what a fine/suspension are for.
The idea of it is just stupid on it’s face, hence why real fight sports don’t do it.

Ok but in this case Tony TOLD Turner after Jericho cheated to win the ROH belt to tighten the screws. So this wasn't a situation where "It happens so many times, why NOW? It makes no sense!" when they even said it on commentary that Kingston wouldn't release the hold and it forced Turner to make a call It's a domino effect, it's not one peeps have to like but it does lay in some type of logic, which is something.

While it's generally a good idea to show such changes and have commentary talk about it, giving blatant examples in matches early on to me makes it unclear wether the changes are a short term work or a shoot that's supposed to stick. Reconditioning fans to what they have to expect needs lots of little steps.

There's just no reason that, this deep into everything, "Eddie got his win EXCEPT NO WAIT THERE'S A HEAT SEGMENT" should even be on the table. Just a horrible idea to keep this dragging along, and if it doesn't drag along and this somehow impossibly is the end, then cool, that's even worse.

When he hit the 3 backfists and got the quick submission I thought it was the perfect finish to this feud between Sammy and Kingston, the latter of whom could then move on to bigger and better things.
Did they have to use *this* match for their new referee storyline? Just use it in one of the many, many cold matches they have to start an angle not pro-long an out of date one.
