This whole thing is kind of a case where, yeah, I get it, but also at a point you have to actually go somewhere with this and have Eddie get better instead of continually falling back into him being an utter moron. I understand the intent of the story but the intent sucks.

I get what they are going for but the big issue is that one and this is perhaps one of Tony's biggest issues as a booker, is that this feud should have long been over. AEW feuds tend to go on far too long (I am glad some one mentioned the never ending Sting/Darby Allen vs Team Taz) and it feels like this feud should have probably ended at least two different times(how is the blood and guts match not the conclusion to this feud?), yet it keeps going on. Second Eddie is booked too much of a choke artist to the point where he nevers beats anyone of note or always comes up short. It makes him look more like a underdog but instead more like a goober. Jericho had talked about how his stable isn't like the NWO yet like the NWO they always win and never truly get any commpuance. JAS is so boring at this point and I say that as someone that likes Jericho.

But the only current long feuds AEW now has are Christian vs JB and Britt vs Toni, the rest wrapped up this week.
JAS as a whole is still booked weaker than the Elite was last year(Good Brothers never looked weak like 2.0 who lost to a rookie and a non wrestler, you had Hager being eliminated early in the Golden Ticket battle royal).

F*** this feud I am so tired of Jericho as a whole. Like he's doing some great work and at this point it in his career it is remarkable but ole boy can disappear off from my screen for 6 months and I wouldn't miss him Also, TK stop trying to explain shit. I had that pandering BS. If something sucks then it sucked, idc about the process behind it That is something I really don't like. You can't really predict how people are going to react to things. Like, who at this point last year would think Billy Gunn would be more over than Ricky Starks? Literally nobody. You can do your absolute best to create good matches/characters/storylines, but at the end of the day the audience reaction doesn't lie. If it went over like shit, it's not the audience's fault.

Another issue is at some point you need to PROGRESS the story. This “Eddie chokes because of his emotions” thing has been going for A LONG time now. And it feels like they don’t actually progress anything there. It’s just that same beat over and over and over again.
I’m kind of tired of it at this point.

It should have ended at Blood & Guts. It’s just making Eddie and Co look bad at this point. And poor Ruby got her face busted as well. Especially since you pivot to Kingston being mad at Claudio for stealing his moment as the natural pivot point

I do agree that that's the story but the fact that Eddie (cleanly) beat Jericho back at Revolution kind of takes some away from the story. And really... the only end game is for Eddie to win a title IMO.

Jericho winning the ROH title makes sense if he's dropping it to Eddie, as I don't see Khan giving Eddie the AEW world title or TNT title. If that's the direction this is going, then it's a really, really, really long way to get to a logical ending, but at least it would make some sense. Like I said in another thread, this feud had a beginning, middle, and end, but it was just played out in the wrong order on TV. Eddie beating Jericho for a world title can correct that.

I thought it was heading towards Garcia vs Jericho with both titles on the line.

And again, Eddie failed. It'll go down in the records as another loss. No matter how much you try to spin it or say let's see where this goes, when it was time for him to finally win, he winded up losing. I mean Tony Khan himself said that the overturning was bullshit and was pissed that Sammy was celebrating it like he actually did something So yeah Eddie lost because of his inability to release the hold and Paul Turner's decision, but a storyline is a storyline, and it seems to be pretty emphasized that it's part of the beat I'm one of the biggest Kingston fans here, I'm just willing to, as you said, see where it goes, I'm not pissed about it because it's pretty obvious they're setting up stuff. I don't really think this is me trying to spin anything, I'm just taking in the info they give me as a fan. Tony Khan does not value DQ wins very highly. Yet he loves outside interference that requires the ref to turn his back 20 seconds or more. Go figure.

I do understand those who were angry about the decision on Rampage but personally I thought it was clear there's a story going forward. There's a reason the ref overturning was specifically used for Eddie.

I made this analogy before with the Cody stuff last year but it's basically the Poochie debut on Itchy and Scratchy and we're Milhouse waiting for them to get to the fireworks factory

Especially since you pivot to Kingston being mad at Claudio for stealing his moment as the natural pivot point I get if they didn't want to make him a heel... but King's pretty much born to be the tweener guy... and the "you waltz in here... and you take what should have been mine" makes way too much sense... but yeah after Anarchy in the Arena and ESPECIALLY Blood and Guts the feud should have been well over.

Long term booking? Lol?
I don’t even like Eddie Kingston but this booking is ridiculous.

Yeah. Look at how they capitalized on the heat by having Eddie get his payback tonight....

Right?
