Crowd tonight looks great on camera Super easy for No DQ to just take a picture of the hard cam side or where tickets aren't being distributed and say the company is in a bad way. Not shocked they got called out on their BS and now they're just gonna go full anti-AEW tbh Thats literally not the hard cam though, that's the side where they always open tickets in arenas they run and normally sell a lot better in that area.
That area was fully open when I looked on ticketmaster yesterday and there were lots of seats available like this picture is showing......people just didn't want to buy tickets for the show, its not some big conspiracy by people to make AEW look bad.

It looks like the hard cam side because it's the other side of the arena where the entrance is. The other section I thought was a section they closed to open up others which the one ticket account showed Either way it happens. But honestly after that article No DQ can eat shit lol

Collision tickets are going for $10 for this Saturday at the Bryce Centre. Ridiculous deal.

I'm hoping they start to book smaller venues. A full 3,000 capacity venue to me looks, sounds, and feels better than 3,000 people in a 8,000 capacity arena, where you have to keep the lighting down and never show the hardcam side.
And all these crowd shots and reported numbers that detractors use to beat AEW with a stick can just, go away. Well, they'll never go away but it'll improve at least.
You might still be able to use the bigger venues if you, ya know, go to different areas too? Just a thought!

Come back to the Carolinas…there are other cities than Greenville and Greensboro…. This 💯. I've been waiting for them to come back to Charlotte. I believe the last time they were in Charlotte was the 1st Battle of the belts. I was supposed to go but got covid the day before. Only reason I went to Greenville for Collision was because I haven't been to an AEW event in awhile and who knows if they'll ever come back to Charlotte.

3000 at the Heritage Bank is insane, lmao. Especially compared to the building being decently packed this time last year.
Just personally speaking, I totally forgot they were even coming to Cincy until literally the day of the show. I saw like, NO advertising for it. Which is weird cuz I swear I remember seeing ads when they came here last year. Of course, this is just my experience so maybe other folks saw the advertising but I was kinda shocked at how little press there was for it.

Yeah, they need to try and expand their horizons a bit or book smaller venues for now. It seems to be a legit issue.

I know people want big arenas for that big time feel, but honestly I love wrestling shows in smaller venues. The crowd feels hotter and it has a more intimate vibe. I love watching the New Generation era WWF Raw's and seeing the variety of venues they set up in, and I think it would be beneficial to AEW to do something similar.

I guess one question is whether they are making up for it with the increased ticket prices.
Seems hard to believe that would be the case, but I don't know.
But if they're dropping the ball on local promoting that's really not good.

Tomorrow's Collision is in another big arena (15 thousand capacity) and as things stand that's sold less than 3000.

Think it mostly boils down to them running too many shows in too few markets and charging too much for them. Should probably try to diversify where they're at more and tape Dynamite and Collision together more often.

Bringing it up in another thread, but some of this is thanks to lagging indicators; whether you liked AEW since Brawl Out last year or not, a lot of people felt it was their weakest overall period creatively, and that's likely impacted ticket sales for shows deeper into 2023. If they want to reverse that, it'll take a consistent string of stronger shows and more positive word of mouth. All In, All Out, Punk's firing, and the last couple weeks of shows have a lot of fans feeling better about things in general, but that's not likely to translate into many more sales for a good while, not unless something they're doing gets beyond insanely hot.
That said, I can believe they're also doing a crappy job of advertising; last local show around here was Collision in Newark, NJ, and I only found out about the tickets being up because I'm a Devils ticket holder who got an email alerting me about them. Arthur Ashe is this Wednesday, and I don't recall seeing things like, say, billboards along the 7 train line on my way to Mets games like I saw over the last couple of years to hype up people in Queens. And unless there are some local radio/TV ads I'm missing due to not watching a lot of cable or listening to terrestrial radio, then I haven't really seen any signs of advertising around here.
Curious if there are numbers out there about how much most of the ticket prices have gone up, though, and if that's translated to more income for the company or not. If they went too far with it, it might well be playing a big role.

by the layout of those ticket images it's pretty interesting to see one whole side just unused by design like that. Amazing how they are able to film that properly without really ever giving that away. TNA back in the day would have had the camera facing that way.
