They didn't sell tickets on the hard cam side, so gasp, the hard cam side is empty WWE does the same thing, there are pictures you can dig up of big WWE events with no fans just like this on that side of the arena This is a complete nothingburger that gets brought up every few months it feels like. I have just started reporting at this point... This has been going on for two years now. This is the 3rd time today when I have not been trying to communicate with you at all but your the first one to respond in this never ending conversation I can't find myself out of to participate here. I am leaving for the evening as I can tell things are testy today for some reason and I am not looking to catch anything. Please just breath...I promise you nothing I say is important. In particular, cjb and Rick Styles. So that ends now, period. You two, no replying to each other directly or indirectly because you two can't play nice in class. One or the other, or both, has blocked each other at some point yet that didn't seem to stop things. I'm not trying to reply to you, but you are posting relevant information to the threads and topics of this board, the news and points are generic and have nothing to do with you personally, I am not trying to antagonize or anger you in any way, shape, or form You're essentially telling me to not simply reply to topics on this board if you directly post them, which is literally telling me to just not post on the board at all if you post any relevant information to the board. If it was a matter of me being angry at you, or replying to you out of malice or directly because it's you, I'd get it. I'm replying to attendance posts, I'm replying to tweets about Colt Cabana and Brandon Cutler teaming up. YOU happened to post them, that is what it is. Now I'm getting reported for that? I can't reply to generic topics or other people replying to those topics because you happen to be posting or involved in them? Idk what to do anymore. I feel like I'm being alienated and punished for no reason at this point. It's becoming miserable that I'm being handcuffed this hard. I've loved this place for a decade, but I can't f***ing leave basic replies because a user is so fed up with me they can't stand my presence next to them in threads, I'm legitimately left at a pause of what to do. If a Mod would like to message me, please feel free if this is actually a major problem, because at this point that's all I can really ask. I'm beside myself.

One or the other, or both, has blocked each other at some point yet that didn't seem to stop things. There's precedent for this, as mods have been known to ban people from posting in threads. So, that's what we're gonna do. Don't reply to each other, don't make comments regarding things that one or the other had said. If not, a suspension or even a ban is in order. Perhaps the latter since both of you have been suspended before, and neither have taken that to heart. I don't care who's right here. You two argue, over and over and over again and this drags others to counter argue and make things worse. This is non negotiable. Psst....here's the thing, it takes two to tango and you are just as, if not more more guilty at egging this shit on. Grow up.

I assume it was in the Scrum Thread initially, so I apologize, I didn't even know this was enacted I didn't think I was legitimately doing anything wrong in replying to generic news (Not even quoting Rick so he wouldn't even get notifications and since I'm blocked he shouldn't even care to read my posts anyway) but I'm just sorry this continues to be a problem. I'm only trying to reply and discuss conversations that are being posted here, not cause any further trouble for the mods, so really I'm sorry, and I'll just try and avoid this in the future if it's help you guys out.

Honestly I like this year's Grand Slam card more than last year's. I hope the booking helps boost ticket sales in the next week. They did a great job.

How's that? Seriously you have never tried in private. Please keep this honest atleast as you have never responded to me. You sent me a warning in APril of 2022 and never responded then banned me in april of this year for 90 days and sent me a message i didnt see until after so i had no idea. I hate this and I hate that its public. I don't like that him and I continuously look like idiots and I dont want this to continue which is why i asked for us to follow the rules and apparently I cant even do that.

I thought that seeing it during the rundown. Nothing will top the first one but it should be good. Honestly the build to Joe/MJF with the side intrigue of Roddy’s devastating neck injury and being cruelly abandoned by his old friend is some of the best storytelling AEW has done in its history. I’ve loved that storyline.

Do they though? Not trying to be antagonistic, but every TV show I've been too (granted it's NYC) the arena is jammed packed all over. I feel like it’s one of the many, many things that can easily be spun in one direction or the other to fit an agenda. I’ve personally seen WWE close off the hardcam side in Louisville for a RAW taping that only sold like 4,000 tickets in a 15,000 seat venue (and that’s not including the seats behind the tron). But neither AEW nor WWE would hesitate to open those seats up if ticket sales warranted it. So it’s a common thing that doesn’t necessarily mean much in the grand scheme, but it is also indicative that ticket sales were not as good as they could have been.

WWE will not open up the entire hard cam side and the upper deck if the ticket sales are poor. They’ll open them up when selling well, which they have been for a while now. This was a 2500 attendance in a 13K seat arena. The last year and a half WWE’s attendance has been consistently been pretty great so I’d be surprised if they’ve been not selling that high a percentage of the arena.

Still think it's disingenuous to say it's a 13K seat arena. A lot of wrestling companies do not go into these arenas with intent to sell 13K seats The entrance blocks off almost half of them if not a considerable amount, and then hard cam are usually the last seats to go As I said, the crowd was loud and looked great on the show itself. Sometimes shows have lower attendance, but AEW has been doing well numbers wise in most places they've gone. They just need to run certain places like Chicago less, or you're gonna see diminishing returns.

As someone who has been in that arena many, many times, I would tend to agree that it’s disingenuous at best to call it a “13K seat arena.” First of all, its only tenant is a minor league hockey team that averages about 5500-6000 people per game, and the upper bowl seldom gets used except for concerts. The arena was built in the 70s and those upper bowl seats are VERY uncomfortable (I sat in them once for an MCR concert). I doubt they ever even considered opening those up.

It's hit or miss. Really depends. Either way, to try to go to a more constructive conversation. Really the only thing AEW can actively do is lower ticket prices as I've seen a few sources say that they've priced a bunch of people out. Outside of that? To touch on a point I made earlier and something to add that I posted in the rating thread. Unless you get something that absolutely catches fire or is show dynamic changing, attendance is a long term gain/loss. AEW had a lot of sellouts due to being hot from 2021, The past year/year and a half has had a lot of entertaining stuff, but I think in some ways AEW lost it's way and I'll be honest it just took the vibe change I've noticed since Punk got fired for me to really think about it. But I feel between injuries, drama, Tony just holding off on some stuff longer than he should, and some stuff just flat out not hitting has led to a lot of... not bad necessarily... but a lot of cold stuff. I think overall AEW has been pretty hot since Revolution. Some iffy stuff here and there, but a very consistently good program... but I also think the start of Collision also showed that despite having a deep roster it really exposed how much of the roster AEW had to flesh out. The TLDR version? I think this corrects itself it just takes time, but the last couple weeks of programming seems to be AEW finding itself quite a bit

But looking into it it looks like Denny Zen is right that they don’t usually open up the upper deck in that arena unless tickets are selling really well, at least for the WWE shows I looked into. A house show in June there sold about 6,000 tickets and was set up for about 6200. A Raw in January was set up for about 7,000 and did open up the upper deck for one side of the arena.

WWE outdrawing AEW in certain areas isn't really a shock when one company's brand has been around since the 80's and the other hasn't been around for five years But hey good to know I guess. The show drew lower for AEW, shit happens and who knows, maybe next time they go, they do higher now that they put on a great show there.

AEW has shown a lot of shrinking ticket sales when they’ve repeated cities as the years have gone on. They were outselling WWE for a while. But the last year and a half or so the domestic ticket sales have flipped and WWE is selling much better while AEW’s shows have shown decreases. I think it’s worthy of discussion and is not really related to being around since the 80s.

AEW cooling off was always bound to happen, but I really think they've been doing fine this year all around with ticket sales, they just need to expand and go to more in demand cities which would help the attendance numbers and likely help the other cities that need more of a break Higher ticket prices in comparison to other years is also a thing being cited here as, likely, being a thing that's been hurting the numbers

When I went to a Raw taping in 2015 in Newark, there were a few tarped off sections along with the hard cam section. Not that the arena wasn't filled up or anything because it was still a lot of people there. Just stuck out because I'd never been to a taping for a wrestling show before. Camera crews and production use smoke and mirrors so they don't show up on TV.
