Didn't they practically do an entire month in New York? That can't be good for that territory. Albany, Buffalo, NYC are also in different parts of the state, the drive to either three is painfully long.

I mean, we've reached the point where that new car smell has pretty much worn off on the AEW brand itself, the top of the card's an absolute mess for reasons that were clearly unforeseen, and as such, there's not really a hot program to carry things.
I don't know, I think it's pretty fair to expect somewhat of a downturn in business or at the very least, things aren't gonna be popping like they were.

I think it's probably a bit overblown and going to new cities is something they should do, but probably isn't always as easy as it seems.
That said, I'd be surprised if we didn't see them venture out over the next year or so

Come to Montreal, we'll give you a good house If AEW books Pretty Peter vs. PAC for that Atlantic belt, I say they can fill up Olympic Stadium.

If they have the Wingmen dancing to Ryan Nemeth's theme between matches like the Nitro Girls with Angelico occasionally interrupting like Alex Wright, they'd sell out ... buildings. Like, big buildings.

Yeah, reaaaallllly not buying this Punk argument. I think it's more attributable to the fact that the show is just WORSE than it was a year ago.

Albany, Buffalo, NYC are also in different parts of the state, the drive to either three is painfully long. Seriously, I feel like as far as eastern states go, people forget how big New York state actually is about as often as people forget how LONG top to bottom Florida actually is (I say with unpleasant memories of driving to Disney, crossing the FL/GA border and going YAY we're almost there, and then... yeah, Orlando isn't "almost there"). Albany might look straight up the road on a map, but even via the thruway it's a haul from Westchester, let alone if you were coming from the city proper. Ditto for having distinct Newark and Long Island shows. ESPECIALLY Long Island shows.

I think the solution is to run 39384 more Chicago shows, they're definitely starving for AEW shows.

Yeah, reaaaallllly not buying this Punk argument. I think it's more attributable to the fact that the show is just WORSE than it was a year ago. Punk had been the top babyface for the better part of a year, won all of his feuds, and in his last match beat Mox. Dude has wrestled his last match for AEW, but didn't put anyone over and pass on his heat to anyone on his way out. He also absolutely buried another top babyface (Hangman) during his last month in the company. Losing your top babyface will have an effect, especially if that babyface didn't put anyone over beforehand and was such a massive f***head that he buried one of the companies top stars. So while I would say it's more the product not being as compelling as it was a year ago, Punk going away has almost certainly has had an effect.

I’m not sure going to new cities is a simple matter of “just go here!”; there are arena deals to negotiate, demos to follow, and a lot of logistics that go into things like that. I wouldn't doubt if we don't still experience the unspoken bias of WWE as well where they have contacted these places with ultimatums...I seriously doubt that has ended.

Lol I think we've seen posts on here how people don't want to make the trek from NYC/north jersey into the ubs arena or Arthur ashe. My dad did the nyc to buffalo drive in the 70s. Worked in Buffalo but had went back to NYC to see family every so often. I remember him talking about how it sucked especially when it snowed. Hell even down in Florida you can't pay people to go to Tampa - Orlando and vice versa due to how bad the traffic is on i4. I had coworkers who did it for a job and it they had to move to Tampa after a few months.

Hell even down in Florida you can't pay people to go to Tampa - Orlando and vice versa due to how bad the traffic is on i4. Lived in NYC for two years and have had family in the area for longer... You can almost kind of divide the city and its surroundings into pizza slices (appropriately) with the pointy end centered on Manhattan and the broad end off towards either LI, Jersey, Connecticut, or Westchester, and crossing from one slice to another is almost always a colossal pain in the ass. Long Island is also pretty much only close to Long Island, and to where it overlaps with the eastern end of Queens. It's not so much "you can't get there from here" so much as "...I don't want to get there from here if I absolutely don't have to". Re: your second point, even after living in NYC and driving in NYC, I swear Orlando traffic is far worse and far more white knuckle to drive in.

Another thing to consider is AEW's tickets usually move the most the week of the event when they announce more matches for the cards
What we're essentially seeing here, in my opinion, are people waiting to see what AEW is going to offer them as a card, especially when we're gonna start seeing live Rampage's in their own venues for the next two months. This won't all be Dynamite gates, it'll be a real test for them
I do agree they should branch out more to the midwest though, if they can, and especially in Canada. I think hitting new territories is just going to matter. Hitting places WWE normally doesn't is a big deal and could work out well for them.
