Wonder why on earth they're closing on some kind of ill-explained Silent Hill multiplayer game no one wanted instead of on the 2 remake. Guess due to the movie?
Edit: Oh, it's not closing, fair.

That Silent Hill f looked the most interesting one, shades of the Red Weed from War Of The Worlds.

Feels a bit like they hedged their bets here with the range of projects with the idea that even if you weren't into most of it, there'd be at least one that would get you interested.
Also some potentially good news for those worried about Blooper Team:

If this leads to Silent Hill 1 being remade proper by the end of this decade, then I'm happy. Shattered Memories was a fun reimagining of it all, but that hardly counts.

Something I will say is that between the Suikoden revival and the smorgasbord of SH content, it does feel like Konami's has finally started their phase of ramping up production on the major IP's again. I've always suspected that the retreat back to largely Japanese markets in the past few years was in a lot of ways both a reset of the company and effectively a way to lick their wounds after the MGSV debacle. Essentially focus on safe'/modest releases, build up the coffers with profits from eBaseball games, Yu-Gi-Oh titles, and collections before eventually putting that money back into the big stuff when the time was right.
While I still don't think big AAA projects are happening anytime soon given Konami's current strategy, (with even SH2 Remake essentially existing because Sony's funding/paying for much of it) overall it does feel a lot closer to potentially seeing new media from the likes of Castlevania and even Metal Gear than we were three years ago.

Watch me be made to look like a fool when all we get is a Silent Hill Netflix adaptation announcement. Don't you put that evil on me!

Most excited about that "Until Dawn" style looking game. Never was a big fan of SH2, but I'm the weirdo who loves 4 the most.
Haven't played any game since 4 so I kno very little about any of the remaster or reimaginings.

So apparently far and wide consensus out of that Ascension thing is that it was really damn bad on basically every level, with no moderation whatsoever on the chat and no safeguards for people trying to sabotage the experience plus for some ungodly reason this multiplayer interactive movie thing has a battle pass.

for some ungodly reason this multiplayer interactive movie thing has a battle pass. Greed. Greed is the reason. If any game company is gonna pass on an opportunity to monetize stuff it has no business monetizing by chopping it to pieces and selling each piece separately, it sure as shit isn't gonna be Konami.

You can always hate on Konami. It's always morally correct.

I've heard rumours that Pachinko business is down, and Japan is looking at restructuring it's gambling laws where Pachinko is involved. Hence Konami coming back to games.

Word is for tonight's they repeatedly showed the wrong outcomes for things compared to what the community voted on, so seems like there was basically no playtesting whatsoever involved here.
Also after charging people $20 for emotes they've now removed the chat.

Hope Jim Steph Sterling makes a video on that, at least if industry BS doesn't drown them with a hundred even more insane stories within the week.
