Word is for tonight's they repeatedly showed the wrong outcomes for things compared to what the community voted on, so seems like there was basically no playtesting whatsoever involved here. Also after charging people $20 for emotes they've now removed the chat. What a 100% Konami move. Hope Jim Steph Sterling makes a video on that, at least if industry BS doesn't drown them with a hundred even more insane stories within the week. As expected, they've got one up. Not going to embed since the language warning extends to the title but... www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mJWhzKbR1Q

Been awhile since I've seen the Commander do a "f*** Konami" video. Konami has been too focused on pachinko and other crap in recent years to be noticed in the video gaming industry.

It is worth noting that Konami has been back into gaming for some time (even years ago the pachinko stuff was always a little exaggerated); its just been largely focused on the AA Japanese market and mobile oriented properties like Yu-Gi-Oh. Heck Momotaro Dentetsu, the Japanese Train Board Game Simulator title that released in 2020 is the Konami's best selling game of all time in that region. That prioritization of modest Eastern titles like eBaseball vs. the less notable in the West (collections, Bomberman, that dubious 2019 Contra release) has meant they've flown under the radar to much of North American and Europe until the SH presentation and the MGS3 remake.
None of that's a defense for the recent nonsense with Silent Hill, just clarification on their status and that their current strategy seems to be based around games with very controlled budgets for the purpose of modest profits, potential big stuff like the SH2 and MGS3 remakes aside.

Look, I can't overstate just how much better the Silent Hill movie would have been if they had gone with the dog ending.
