So what old aspects of Saturday Night Live, you would like to see them be back.
One thing you can start with is not a billion cast members, if they go back to the day of having 7 or 8 regular cast members, that would be good.
But what they really need to go is stop making the cold open a participation award, everyone in the sketch gets to say "Live From New York It's Saturday Night", it is so annoying.
Make Weekend Update shorter, it is just like movies now a days, too dam long.
And finally, women playing male politicians and celebrities, just stop it, it is not cute, if I can quote David Allen Grear from In Loving In, just stop it. You didn't see Gilda Radner or Jane Curtain doing that.

John Belushi, Phil Hartman, and Norm MacDonald.
Unfortunately I did not get into the necromancy school I wanted so I'm up s*** creak on that front.

Having a single anchor for update (I know they had dual anchors as early as season 3), and having it be a parody of the news again.

actual monologues from the hosts and not the host getting interrupted by members of the cast or cameos from guests in the crowd stuff.

"Awkward" and "random" are no substitutes for "clever" when it comes to humor.

... and having it be a parody of the news again. YES I liked it when a good portion of Weekend Update was the cliché of the local TV anchor plowing thru a bunch of mundane stories in a couple minutes and then having some random filler segment to kill time before the weather report. I'd also like to see some updated versions of their old commercials. Like what's the sales pitch on the new 2022 model of the Bass-o-Matic? Do they still make Quarry and Colonblow? Surely the Cluckin' Chicken is still around and running ads.

Seems to be overly political. And it’s usually trying to be more partisan than funny
Too many cast members
Writers on drugs

Back to my rant about too many women playing men parts. It is like they want to do a female version of Kids In The Hall (which I was not a fan of that part of Kids In The Hall to begin with).

I'd like to see them go back to having special guest performances from comedians. They did it up through 1986-87. Yeah, it took time away from sketches, but it was also where people like Joel Hodgson, Harry Anderson, Paula Poundstone, Sam Kinison, and Andy Kaufman got their start (or at least wider exposure in the case of Kinison and Kaufman).

What's your issue with this? It;s not funny Kate McKinnon doing any of her dead-on impressions isn't funny to you? It just seems like a weird thing to point out to take issue with, especially since the lesser impressions of political figures has alwways fallen on the men's side (as talented as he is, Baldwin's Trump has never been good and only really was a recurring casting because of how much it irritated the subject of the impression and the free press said subject would inadvertently give it) And your citing the Kids in the Hall thing is odd to read as well. Like, the joke was never, in any sketch, that they were men in women's clothing. They were playing characters who were women. How was that an immediate deal breaker in sketches for you? Men playing women and women playing men has existed independently in the majority of cultures since theater began thousands of years ago. I'm just trying to figure out where you're coming from with this.

Wait, are you saying you don't want writers on drugs or you want the writers to start taking drugs again? Because if you think that the SNL writers from back in the day weren't on drugs then man, I got some news for you.
