They don’t need him so it’s either sign with us with provisions or take your ass to FA again and let’s see if you still worth $300M He most likely will be fine thru out good portion of his deal but I can see something written in like if the leg injury causes him to miss X amount of time in 7 years then he losses some cash |

They could not afford to lose Devers after Mookie and Xander. But it does feel like they're a step away from contention. Feels a lot like my Cards. Stealing a star away from the Rockies for cheap, but doesn't want to spend like a real contender, and is praying the farm makes up for it.
