Sox had no choice as mostly everyone expected this after you let Xander go and even before when you signed Story
Smart deal all around. He's only going to be 26 so if Sox aren't contending in 3 years you got a player to deal in his prime

One less top FA for the Giants to whiff on next offseason. I cannot wait to go absolutely all-in, only to lose Ohtani to the Dodgers.

Red Sox extend Devers!!!! 11 Years 331 Million. I'm shocked. Happy, but shocked. I thought for sure Devers was going to the market. Way to go Chaim!!! But what am I going to with my pitchfork and torch? Have you looked at the roster they've assembled for 2023? While I'm thrilled that they actually extended Rafael Devers, I'd still like to know what the plan is for the Red Sox in 2023 and beyond. Are they planning to contend? Because signing veterans like Kenley Jansen, Justin Turner, and Corey Kluber and spending $90 million on Masataka Yoshida are moves that a team seeking to play serious baseball in 2023 would make. But letting Xander Bogaerts, Nathan Eovaldi, and J.D. Martinez walk in free agency are moves that a rebuilding team would make. They just seem stuck in the middle, without a plan in place, while every other team in the AL East gets considerably better around them.

Former Mets GM Omar Minaya is joining the Yankees as a senior advisor to baseball operations.
Again, I don't think people should get their hopes up on Cashman's job is in any danger. But I do think it's either an admission on Cashman's or the Yankees' part that their 100% number crunching approach isn't working.

Texas' starting rotation this season looks mean. Wish my Padres were as invested in the starting rotation as they are the bullpen and the never ending shortstop signings.

Giants already said they not backtracking Dude's knee medicals are gonna f*** him out of potentially two teams and a lot of money A team is gonna be desperate enough to give him a large sum of money but it might not be who he wanted or what he wanted by this point. Almost expect him to fumble his way into Colorado's "One big FA signing a year and then they do nothing else" moment

Caus I swear my guy Jim Hendry has been with the Yankees for AGES now! I kind of miss ol' Hendry here in Chicago. Also, Cubs signed a lefty first basemen...and its Eric Hosmer?? Oh joy, we finally got rid of Jason "6-4-3" Heyward, and signed another ground ball hitter...at least he is cheap I guess and wouldnt block Mervis if he is ready ready this season. The shift bans could maybe help Hosmer.

Almost expect him to fumble his way into Colorado's "One big FA signing a year and then they do nothing else" moment Twins were fine with taking him on a 10/$285M deal but most likely that deal would probably be lower if anything He probably should have stayed there tho I think there is a chance they still bring him back but Correa/Boras has potentially fumbled the bag. You had 10 year deal with Detroit last year and turned it down. Giants flagged the knee but said they were still willing to talk but Boras got impatient after 12 hours. Now, Mets are saying yeah we want you but price got to come down Good chance he still walks away with at least $250M guaranteed but he's got to accept some risk with the knee

Andy Martino is reporting that a source is telling him that the Mets are so frustrated with the Correa talks, they might just walk away from the deal.

Good chance Boras f**ed up when he played the fast card on Giants instead of waiting / You took 2 years and like $30 mill less to go to Mets. Probably another chance that happens again especially if Twins get him back and expect that money to paid over 30 years with installments Cohen has a little egg on his face from talking about the deal before the ink was dry but considering offseason Mets have had, he can endure that

Most likely I see something like a 9 year deal with 2 opt outs Opt outs after Year 3 and 6 so that way you still getting some value from him instead of just letting him bounce after one year like what just happened
