This is why the Mets are and will be the little brother franchise in this city. You ever see this happen with the Yankees? Nope, because they're a grown up origination and don't have these kind of embarrassments. The Mets should just pack up and fold now for being such a clown show joke team. Red Sox infielder Trevor Story underwent elbow surgery on his throwing elbow Monday, and he's expected to be out until May to July.

Boston said Tuesday that Story underwent an internal bracing procedure on his right ulnar collateral ligament a day earlier. Texas Rangers team physician Dr. Keith Meister operated at Texas Metroplex Institute in Arlington, Texas.

The internal brace procedure repairs an existing ulnar collateral ligament instead of a full reconstruction involved in Tommy John surgery. The less-invasive option has the potential to allow for quicker recovery.

That's the cherry on top of the s**t sundae that Red Sox fans have been force-fed this offseason. Looking at the starting pitching staff and projected Opening Day lineup, this is shaping up to be the worst Red Sox team since the turn of the century. They're a 78-84 team that got SIGNIFICANTLY worse. 100 losses is not out of the realm of possibility.

Interesting wrinkle on this is that the Mets apparently offered Correa the years he wanted, but $50 million or so less than the Twins overall.

Considering Steve Cohen's "f*** you" money, I'm pretty surprised they didn't go the extra mile for the money to outbid the Twins. But then maybe his leg will become that much of a liability later on.
