Interesting wrinkle on this is that the Mets apparently offered Correa the years he wanted, but $50 million or so less than the Twins overall. Considering Steve Cohen's "f*** you" money, I'm pretty surprised they didn't go the extra mile for the money to outbid the Twins. But then maybe his leg will become that much of a liability later on. Ultimately, Correa was a luxury not a need and the ball was in the Mets court Cohen has a little egg on his face for talking about the deal before it was done but that's a drop in the bucket and a learned lesson of not talking before the paperwork is signed |

It’s astounding to me that an ankle injury Carlos Correa suffered in 2014, an injury that really hasn’t affected him at all in the Majors, is giving so many teams cause for concern. I’m just baffled by it. The Mets and Giants are acting like his leg is going to come flying off at any moment.

I’m just baffled by it. The Mets and Giants are acting like his leg is going to come flying off at any moment. Giving someone $300M is not a small investment It is the possibility that something could go wrong early and that will f** you. The contract is going be ass on the back end and you accept that but if there is a possibility that shit can go left from beginning, you do not want that He's had numerous other injuries including a f***ed back so while the knee is a sticking point, the picture as a whole can get messy with all those parts moving together |

Minnesota got it good. I’m happy for them.
I’m also relieved the panic buy of 13 years of Correa fell through for the Giants. The back half would have been a nightmare. 6 years seems like a sweet spot. Even if his leg falls off at some point, it isn’t quite as catastrophic money/years wise.

I'm a TMKS listener, but it's mostly for Don and Peter. Though Kay does play it up a bit for the purpose of entertainment. This is one of those cases.
