I like the risk, since Arraez should only get better with the shift ban and Lopez is a two-pitch pitcher who isn't terribly likely to break through to the next level. But I don't get why MIAMI is the one to take the risk. Their team isn't really in a spot to take that risk, and they're in a division with Philly and NY spending out the ass to contend. Keep the assets, bc the best Miami is gonna finish is a 1st round exit. In Miami mind, they have a strong enough rotation to compete and they do have a lot of young talented arms but they feel they will be in the race with a better offense My assumption is Miami wants to stick around the division and see what they can do

Arte Moreno: "At least I'm not Dan Snyder."

Well, my Padres have Nelson Cruz for a year. Pretty cheap price for a reliable DH, too.

So the Angels will continue to be somewhere between horrible and mediocre. Ok gotcha. Ohtani and Trout deserve so much better than this.

Arte Moreno: "At least I'm not Dan Snyder." Well considering the fact that he was party responsible for the mayor of Anaheim resigning in disgrace due to all the corruption involved in attempting to sell Angels Stadium, Moreno is on his way to being Dan Snyder. Little by little.

I guess Ohtani will be leaving this offseason If Ohtani ends up going a half hour north up the I-5 in the off-season to play for his new team, I'll laugh so hard I might burst my spleen.

Do you guys have it worse than Cincinnati, who seem to have an actively hostile ownership to the fanbase?

Do you guys have it worse than Cincinnati, who seem to have an actively hostile ownership to the fanbase? he is actively hostile not only to the fans but the entire organization the entire reason we are constantly saddled with awful contracts is because it has been objectively proven he cares more about butts in seats and flashy signings than actually winning, see as how we've performed like shit for ages now because signing pitching isnt flashy to him he refuses to pay anyone in the organization in the minor leagues what they deserve, we have the worst system solely because of him and he meddles more than jerry jones does i would say he's leaps and bounds worse than the cinci situation because arte has done this for years and years and years now and is the ONLY reason we've given up the prime years of our stars because of signings like pujols, hamilton, etc. also the shit with the anaheim mayor. he's also politically despicable and not cause of who he follows but he takes that mentality to his workers and that's one thing but to also have it seep into the organization and basically make it so we never have anyone in the minor leagues who stays or develops alright, he is just the absolute f***ing worst

I'm lucky enough to follow a team on the mend in terms of office mentality, that sounds f***ing torturous.

I stopped feeling sorry for Mike Trout a long time ago Baseball is a team sport and he can only do so much but if he wanted to win he would been stepped on the owners neck a long time ago How much longer of his prime does he have left. As great as he is, still haven't seen him under the bright lights to put up those big moments

I'm lucky enough to follow a team on the mend in terms of office mentality, that sounds f***ing torturous. it is very rough. this is up there with the worst angels moments purely baseball wise and we’ve already had it so f***ing hard off the field, let alone this guy cutting and furloughing minor league talent, coaches and scouts to save a buck to eventually pay some geriatric player an extra 20 million to hit under the Mendoza line like his stuff is not worst of all time tier but if you research him, he’s an absolute nightmare and the hope I had for him leaving was like nothing since 2002

At least Ohtani has been very open publicly about his frustrations with the team. It seems as if Ohtani actually wants to compete in October for titles. Trout hasn't been public at all.

Protest with your wallet. Hopefully many other Angels fans follow your lead and stop going to games.

At least Ohtani has been very open publicly about his frustrations with the team. It seems as if Ohtani actually wants to compete in October for titles. Trout hasn't been public at all. Trout seems like he's happy getting paid big money, being in Cali, and not having any pressure on him. I guess I can understand that from a quality of life standpoint, but staying with the Angels pretty much cemented the fact that he's going to be the most forgettable GOAT-contender of all time. I agree that I stopped feeling bad for Trout a long time ago, probably as soon as he signed that extension. Only hope is to demand a trade but if he hasn't done that by now, then he probably never will, and that's assuming Arte would even allow that if he did. Ohtani clearly has a different mindset but he's still trapped in his rookie deal. Just stay healthy one more year and he can both cash out and go to a contender. I mean it would be kinda cool for the Angels to finally be good with both Trout and Ohtani on the roster, but they couldn't even make the playoffs during a 60 game pandemic season when more than half the league made it. They are not better than Houston and Seattle, and the Rangers have improved as well, so doesn't look good.
