Along with Griffey Jr they were my favorite players. I tried to emulate Juan's batting stance when I played. It didn't go well Haha, even as a Cardinals fan I emulated Jeff Bagwell's stance when I was a kid. It went just as poorly as yours. I think every kid must've tried out Bagwell's stance. Another I did was Tony Bautista. I remember he would almost look at the pitcher then lean in to swing. I just remember him from his time on the Jays.

I’m convinced the damn baseball is loaded again with all the homers in cold weather. Even Jason Heyward hit a homer today. 49 homers and games aren’t even over.

Just thought I'd post this question because a friend brought it up today. For those of us who don't live near a team, how'd you pick your favorite team? I'm a rangers fan living in nova scotia. Almost everyone here is a jays fan. For me I started watching in 96 and loved the rangers red hats and jerseys and being 11 that made them my favorite team and I've stuck around for 27 years now. So I grew up in Las Vegas but my whole family (outside of those who immigrated to america) were all born and raised in New York. And while the majority of my family are Mets fans, I became a Yankee fan because of my grandfather. He would love to talk about and teach me all about Yankee history as he was 6 in 1925 when he came to America. So he got to experience some of the most sacred Yankee lore, Bronx bombers with Ruth and Lou, jumping Joe Dimaggio, the Mick, etc etc. Plus it didn't hurt that when I was a young kid I got to experience a Yankee dynasty for myself in the late 90s- early 00s.

Idk how much longer I can keep watching the Phillies if they're just gonna keep being this f***ing awful every single game. This is the worst start I've ever seen an NLCS champion have to the season, and it's terrible all around, like some guys are already looking like they should be DFA'd four games into the damn season, straight up cooked
Might legitimately be hanging a banner at home 0-6 to boos and an unfilled stadium.

Just heard on ESPN Radio that Anthony Rendon has been suspended for 5 games. Deservingly so. Taking Rendon's story at face value, so the fan called you a bitch. So what? That doesn't give you free reign to grab him by the collar and take a swing at him. I’m convinced the damn baseball is loaded again with all the homers in cold weather. Even Jason Heyward hit a homer today. 49 homers and games aren’t even over. I'd believe it. I attended last night's Pirates-Red Sox game at Fenway Park, and it was *scoff* 51 degrees at first pitch. (It was a lot colder than 51 degrees) And there were six combined home runs, none shorter than 350 feet.

The Philadelphia Phillies have been mathematically eliminated from playoff contention.

Is the MLB TV app worth the money? Just asking, because I'm heavily considering it.

I was watching the end of the Yankees game and I couldn't help but think watching that Kimbrel/Donaldson match-up "Man, these guys used to be amazing 5 years ago, but now it's just a matter of who is truly worse. So it will be Donaldson." Kimbrel gave up 3 hits to the first 5 batters, before getting a painfully weak pop-up from Donaldson.

Donaldson was legit one of the best players in baseball at one point, for a number of years. The Yankees just got the washed version. Father Time undefeated.

Is the MLB TV app worth the money? Just asking, because I'm heavily considering it. I have a free season of it, and it's great for a baseball junkie like me, who just wants to watch baseball on television and keep up with his fantasy team. That being said, for the price they're asking - $149.99 for the season - I doubt that I'd ever even consider paying for it. That's entirely too much money for what amounts to a six-month season.

lol Donaldson is injured.
On the bright side, IKF took over for him at third base and made a really nice play saving a run at what was his Gold Glove-winning position. As opposed to being a mediocre-at-best defensive shortstop.

Hang a star on that one, that's a White Sox winner!
Elvis Andrus brought into the game - after TA7 got ejected for arguing a pitch clock violation - got his 2000th career hit.
