Cubs sweep the A's which is what good teams should do, beat up on the bad ones! Cubs are 11-6 on the year!! Justin Steele has gone 11 straight starts dating back to last year giving up only 2 runs or less. Since July of last year Justin Steele is one of the top 3 pitchers in all of baseball!! Patrick Wisdom continues to hit the cover off the baseball, and I know its only a small sample size but after the first 3 games this season Cody Bellinger is hitting like a man trying to prove something, so far a very smart signing by Jed and I was iffy on this signing at first. Dodgers and then the Padres come into town starting tomorrow, I know we probably wont sweep either team but at least taking a series or at least staying above 500 after the series against those teams would be very very nice. As a Padres fan who spent four years living on Chicago's north side...that is gonna be one banger of a game to watch, brother. I think both teams want to prove shit this season. May the best team win, gonna be fun as hell either way.

Pour one out for the Oakland PR team that has to try and sell tickets for a crap team in a crap stadium with crap ownership that's not even going to be there in a few years.

f*** John Fisher. I now have to turn to the Dark Side (aka the Giants). Find someone else. We suck and our owners also suck. Not worth the investment.

Such a beautiful game ruined by awful, destructive commissioners

I feel so awful for As fans. The team’s ownership pretty much has f***ed them over so many times. I don’t blame them for low attendance. When you put together teams that are only good enough to be competitive and never or put out AAA teams that are garbage, it doesn’t surprise me that there would be apathy. Ownership pretty much made that team so unappealing. And to lose three sports teams? That’s horrific.

MLB needs a restructuring of its owners. Way too many owners in the league who don’t spend and are killing their markets. With that said, this seems like something MLB wanted as well. With sports betting growing, Vegas was a logical choice for them to go to. Much higher upside than Oakland. Just sucks for Oakland fans.
I think we will see expansion by 2027. Manfred has said they don’t want to expand until A’s and Rays situation is figured out. Vegas will have a new stadium by 2027 and Rays lease runs out that year as well, so that’s probably the year we see two teams added (and possibly the Rays moved somewhere else if they can’t build a stadium in Tampa).

Players rather get paid, they aren’t interested in putting their money on the line

Dark day for baseball; said it earlier, but a city like Oakland, given the astounding history the A's have had there, should be an absolute hotbed for baseball. But the A's ownership has intentionally tanked everything. @#$% them, and @#$% MLB for allowing this to happen. Meanwhile, in LA, we apparently learned that in some stadiums it's ok to cover yourself in vaseline, get caught, not wash it off, get caught again, then just wash it off, but it's very, very bad to have a glove with residual tape glue from the Pitchcomm in it that can get on your non-pitching hand? Phil Cuzzi is a menace. Every single sticky stuff-related ejection since the rule started has been by Cuzzi and the whole "is this too much rosin?" is a complete judgment call. In a warm environment, rosin and sweat are just going to make things stickier over time.
Players have been pushing for years to adopt the tackier Japanese baseball for the American game and that would save a whole ton of headaches over this arbitrary rule. Just allows people to get a better grip on the ball without the need of outside substances and the only people who'd object are the old fuddy duddies who are like "THIS ISN'T HOW I USED TO WATCH BASEBALL IN 1963 WHEN MEN WERE MEN!"
I also really feel bad for the remaining Oakland A's baseball fans.

Nationalize the game, remove the owners entirely. That or find a way to get the players to leave the league and start their own. I'm not sure how it can be done, or even if it can be done, but weeding out the bad owners and forcing them to sell seems like the best alternative for everyone involved. As mentioned players wouldn't want to put up their own money for a league without the infrastructure in place that MLB has (TV deals, licensing, etc). I feel like all it takes is a dedicated owner for a franchise and its fanbase to turn around for the better. The Mets went from the Wilpons to Cohen, and immediately changed for the better. The Padres are a small market yet have owners that want to spend, and now are going to be printing money with one of the highest attendances in the league. The Dodgers ownership change in the early 2010's turned their entire fortunes around. If you put a dedicated ownership group in Pittsburgh and Cincinnati (to name a couple), then I don't think there's any doubt that they could resurrect those franchises. It was probably too late to save the A's as Fisher seemed like he was actively trying to get them to go to Vegas, and there wasn't going to be another owner who bought the team and kept them in arguably the worst facility in sports (Oakland Coliseum). Not building a new stadium pretty much killed that franchise in Oakland.

Sad truth is with Oakland losing so many teams, the government is partially responsible for this.
They kicked the can so long with their teams and better stadiums as Oakland Coliseum had been a dump for nearly a decade and they only recently realized it, but it is too late.

f***, imagine what kind of ballpark Las Vegas will build when you see the gimmicky ones already built like the ones in Cincinnati and Milwaukee . I imagine a lot of colorful lights and maybe a giant roulette wheel

The Yankees still have not lose a series. Anyway I feel the way things are trending, tomorrow's game against the Jays is the true rubber game, Saturday with Cole on the mound that is a guarantee win, while Sunday with Schmitt pitching, that is a guarantee lose.

MLB got it wrong, Phil Cuzzi is the one that should be suspended, he is a disgrace to the game, get him out.

They can move somewhere better, do so Ownership like that should be condemned but blame Miami for really f***ing over everyone. Tax payers footing the bill on that stadium and then they trade all the pieces off the team
