Cody Bellinger hit a 420 foot homer on 4/20.
You can't make this up.

f***, imagine what kind of ballpark Las Vegas will build when you see the gimmicky ones already built like the ones in Cincinnati and Milwaukee . I imagine a lot of colorful lights and maybe a giant roulette wheel How could you not mention Miami and that f***ing awful home run sculpture?

Yeah Phillies gotta start holding people accountable. You just got shut out at home by a team that lost eight straight games and have a team ERA of 6
F*** you and the start of this season being a giant mound of shit, heads need to roll.

WOOFFFF, I am done with the Fulmer experiment...I would rather have current Carlos Zambrano out there to pitch the 9th than him. Matt Mervis would have been able to pitch out of that inning...Cubs lose a heartbreaking game 1 against the Dodgers at Wrigley tonight.

Good lord, this is getting even more ridiculous.
Apparently at the heart of this is that Scherzer was told to wash the resin off his hands, with an ump and/or MLB official watching him. He did, but in order to wash off resin you need to wash with alcohol. Well, resin + alcohol can create a sticky substance, so they threw him out for hands being sticky, and now he's suspended for 10 games and any appeal wouldn't come with a neutral arbiter. What a system.
By the by, if we REALLY want to blame anyone for the A's situation, blame Bud Selig for rejecting multiple attempts by potential owners to buy the A's and committing to keep them in Oakland. He wanted them out of there badly, and wouldn't OK any sales to anyone who'd keep them in town, even with a new stadium.
And I'll never blame local governments for not giving in to these greedy bastards.

Meh, call me petty, but I'm gonna chalk this one up to karma for what the Mets tried to hang on my boy Joe Musgrove last year during the NL Wild Card series. Wanna live by accusing people of cheating with sticky stuff, better be prepared to die by it, too.

I feel so awful for As fans. The team’s ownership pretty much has f***ed them over so many times. I don’t blame them for low attendance. When you put together teams that are only good enough to be competitive and never or put out AAA teams that are garbage, it doesn’t surprise me that there would be apathy. Ownership pretty much made that team so unappealing. And to lose three sports teams? That’s horrific. There's three pieces of blame pie to go around. The largest slice is obviously reserved for John Fisher. He has a net worth of approximately $2.2 billion. He's had full ownership of the franchise since 2016 and has not put any kind of investment into the on-field product or the stadium itself, allowing both to fall into complete disrepair. The group he's a part of bought the A's for $180 million and Forbes estimates it is now worth $1.18 billion, despite the paltry $56.8 million payroll for 2023. He easily could have gotten a stadium deal done in the Bay Area if he put more skin in the game. That said, the second-largest slice has to go to the City of Oakland. They were unwilling to meet Fisher even a quarter of the way, all the while being seemingly oblivious to how realistic the threat of relocation was. For example, the City Council of Oakland most recently wouldn't even let the Howard Terminal Ballpark question go before voters, they just rejected it before it could become a ballot question, and that was after the San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission voted 23-2 in support of allowing the proposal to move forward. They were obstinate, stubborn, and obtuse and have been for years now. And, sadly, I cannot let Oakland A's fans off the hook for this one, either. Even when the team was winning, they weren't showing up. From 2001 through 2006, the A's made the postseason four times, and they couldn't get more than 28,000 fans per game to show up. From 2012 through 2019, the A's made the playoffs five times, yet their highest in-season average attendance was 25,045 in 2014. The City of Oakland will never again see professional sports once the A's depart. No owner seeking relocation would be foolish enough to use the city even as a bluff, and no league experiencing expansion would consider playing in facilities that are already crumbling and in need of repair.

Starting to get excited about Cody Bellinger. If he can get back to any semblance of his MVP form, it changes the math on the whole season.

Wanna live by accusing people of cheating with sticky stuff, better be prepared to die by it, too. I mean...he blatantly used a ton of schmutz on his fingers. That's not really up for debate. But the league's absolute nonsense and arbitrary carrying out of these rules and insistence on not investing in pre-tacked balls (ala what they use in Japan) is just another brick on the load of MLB's general awfulness and Manfred's uselessness as commissioner. Hoo boy, and now with the A's situation working out the way it has, the word is that expansion's coming *very* soon. I'm fine with expansion, but the talk is already that it's coming with regional realignment and the likely erasing of the National and American Leagues. @#$% that.

It could obviously be just a good stretch, but Bellinger is kinda making an indictment of Dodgers hitting coaching to me lol. Whatever, still love that dude.

A city dealing with serious economic problems with its citizenry should never have to foot a red cent for a billionaire's new stadium. Especially when the whole "it creates jobs and money for the community!" argument usually turns out to be complete bullshit.

Yeah thats heartbreaking that the perfect game big ends via a comedy spot in the 8th inning, I would have called it a error myself but whatever. Smyly has been outstanding so far this season! It could obviously be just a good stretch, but Bellinger is kinda making an indictment of Dodgers hitting coaching to me lol. Whatever, still love that dude. There was some stat where if you take away his first two games of the season Bellinger is hitting around .350 on the season. He is up to .301 right now. Dude so far has been one hell of a pick up, I would take a flyer on him for a 3 year deal if he continues this pace.

When you let a washed-up bum like Brandon Belt get 4 RBIs off of you, it's time to rethink the way your pitching strategy.
Then again, Albert Abreu shouldn't be anywhere near a major league roster.
