Aaron Boone is trying to get fired isn't he. Again he messes things up. At this rate, he is going to be gone by Memorial Day. Granted he is not the real problem, Cashman is still going to be here.

Despite the win, I still have to say screw Aaron Boone, and screw IKF, get him off the team, what is the matter with him?

I hope people get fired on the Phillies, I really do And I hope Kimbrel gets launched into the sun, f***ing washed bum, another shit reliever from Dombrowski It is ASTOUNDING to me that Dave Dombrowski has had a significant role in baseball for 35 years and has never, ever fixed his most significant flaw - his inability to build a bullpen. The Florida Marlins' bullpen had a 4.41 ERA under Dombrowski from 1992 through 2001. During his tenure in Detroit, the Tigers had a 4.27 ERA, the 29th-ranked bullpen in baseball in that span and converted only 66 percent of their save chances. It got a little better in Boston, with the Red Sox having a collective 3.70 ERA during his four years in Beantown, but his tenure ended with the team having a 4.40 bullpen ERA in 2019, his final season with the Red Sox. And now look at Philadelphia's relief ERA since arriving in The City of Brotherly Love: 4.60 in 2021 (6th-worst), 4.27 in 2022 (8th-worst), and 5.59 in 2023 (4th-worst). For all the things he's been successful at, he has literally gone decades without ever assembling a quality bullpen.

He'll either bring you a World Series title, or he'll at get you there at some point, but there's a massive downside in that he leaves your farm system (and by proxy, your future) in shambles. I wouldn't trade the 2018 title by any means, but the last few years in large part are a byproduct of getting that title

I wouldn't trade the 2018 title by any means, but the last few years in large part are a byproduct of getting that title He hasn't really touched our farm system though. He traded Logan O Hoppe, but now he's likely done for the year so... much like any farm system, it's hit or miss He got us guys like Sosa, Marsh, Stubbs, and Soto. Young guys locked down for a long time on very friendly deals. He's actually gotten this team a lot of youth instead of depleting them His big issue, is the pen. He sees a name that was great four years ago and thinks it's gonna be ok if he signs them. Familia, Norwood, Hand, and Kimbrel have all been major flops. The only guy he's signed that's actually been ok so far is Andrew Bellatti. It's too soon to say on guys like Marte, Strahm or Soto. But overall? He's missing on a lot of the vet signings. The one he didn't was Robertson and he let him go to the Mets, frustrating as hell.

The Cubs are calling up Matt Mervis. And while I wouldn’t say it’s out of 100% necessity, this offense is starting to show it's warts. It just doesn’t slug enough. It’s not fair to lay that all at the feet of Eric Hosmer. But Eric Hosmer will not be on this team when it’s a real contender. But Matt Mervis might be. He’s done all he can do at Triple A. Let’s we if he can be the middle of the order bat that Cubs need.

I'm not a Cardinals fan, but man, what the hell is going ON in St. Louis? Normally they run their division, but they're out here getting smoked this year.

Nimmo caught stealing, and Marte strikes out swinging. Tigers complete the 2-0 shutout.
Yep, the Mets got swept by the f***ing Tigers. Good grief...

Legit hyped for this, he may start off cold as every minor leaguer tends to do so I am prepared for growing pains but still, it's exciting!! I feel the Cubs feel this is still a contention type of year so doing what they can to field the best 9 guys. Curious how long it takes for Morel to be back and he is raking right now in AAA too.

Red Sox about to sweep the Blue Jays if the score holds up. Man the AL East is a juggernaut. With the new balanced schedule, I'd be shocked if the 3 Wild Card teams weren't from the AL East this season since they'd get to beat up more on the rest of the league rather than cannibalize each other like previous years.

No Yadi, and saw somebody mentioned it on reddit, so I had to look it up, but their rotation doesn't get a lot of strikeouts. Their pitchers don't have swing and miss stuff, it's pitch to contact, and that isn't always gonna work. Yeah, guys like Maddux pitched to contact, but nobody on the Cards is Maddux. Waino's probably their best pitcher, but he's in the Minors right now, is in his 40s, and doesn't hit 90. I think they're regretting trading Alcantara and Gallen.

I'm not quite sure what happened but right as the Red Sox/Phillies began the Sox bullpen called for the paramedics. A person who was not a Sox player or coach was taken down and put on a cart. The person looked awake and alert. I think a fan might had fallen in the bullpen.

Outside of Brito and Schmidt, Yankees staff had been really good even with all the injuries but that don't matter if you can't score and relying on Willie Calhoun

Cards need to think about a change at batting coach sooner than later. No damn discipline at the plate.
Edit: Relievers ain’t got any control either. Let’s piss another game away.

It's no coincidence that all of our best players are guys who we got in FA/trade, and that guys develop more when they leave like Gallen/Alcantara/Randy/Garcia. How many "next great outfielder(s)" have we had? O'Neill is a bum. They won't let Walker work through things. They won't let Nootbar work through things. They didn't let Carlson work through things. Next it'll be Burleson. Yepez is back up to not get ABs. We have SO much organizational depth that we hot potato spots and end up stunting EVERYONE'S growth. It's a beautiful system. The Shildt firing is one that really stings me. Doesn't seem like he got a fair shake, and for sure not as much rope as we gave Matheny who was total ass and inherited a much better team.
