Phillies split in Atlanta, that was probably best case scenario
If they can't win the Mets series I think I'm taking a break...

Not sure who’s the bigger bitch today…the “let’s swing at everything and strikeout 10 times against Boyd” Rangers or Nathan “scared shitless of the Tigers so let’s walk a bunch of guys hoping that they chase” Eovaldi.

Aaron Juzz looking like a back-to-back MVP winner.
Not all good in Seattle though as Harry Bader is injured... yet again.

I saw there is nothing in the rules that says a manager/player tossed out of the game cannot come back in the stadium if they buy a ticket.
I want someone to pull the wrestling move of sitting in the stands waving their ticket in front of security as they try and throw them out.

Austin Nola is far and away the worst player on the Padres so we fixed that by......sending Brett Sullivan down to AAA and calling up Gary Sanchez to probably almost never start and let Nola keep getting tons of starts. Great job, San Diego.

It's a good thing that the A's exist, otherwise people might be talking about how terrible the Royals are.

It is staggering how bad streaming services have butchered a golden opportunity to deliver their products to the consumer. They're actively driving people back to traditional cable by overpricing their product and making it more difficult than ever to watch something. If you told me that Netflix, Max, and MLB.tv were secretly operated by Comcast, in an effort to kill the streaming model, I'd reasonably believe it.

The MLB All-Star Game ballot is out (https://www.mlb.com/all-star/ballot) and here are my picks as we're just about two months into the season.
AMERICAN LEAGUE 1B: Yandy Diaz, Tampa Bay 2B: Marcus Semien, Texas 3B: Rafael Devers, Boston SS: Bo Bichette, Toronto C: Salvador Perez, Kansas City OF: Yordan Alvarez, Houston OF: Aaron Judge, New York OF: Josh Lowe, Tampa Bay DH: Shohei Ohtani, Los Angeles
NOTES: 1B was a toss-up between Diaz and Anthony Rizzo, but Diaz's AVG and OPS pushed him over the top. Josh Jung has a legitimate case at 3B, but I lean Devers at the moment. Judge and Lowe are locks at OF, but Alvarez is slightly ahead of Randy Arozarena, Ezequiel Duran, Adolis Garcia, Mike Trout, and Masataka Yoshida - all of whom have a case.
NATIONAL LEAGUE 1B: Freddie Freeman, Los Angeles 2B: Luis Arraez, Miami 3B: Nolan Arenado, St. Louis SS: Francisco Lindor, New York C: Sean Murphy, Atlanta OF: Ronald Acuna Jr., Atlanta OF: Lourdes Gurriel Jr., Arizona OF: Juan Soto, San Diego DH: Jorge Soler, Miami
NOTES: Pete Alonso has the clear edge in power, but Freeman gets the nod because of his nearly .100-point edge in AVG and .100-plus point edge in OPS. 3B is a legitimate toss-up between Arenado and Austin Riley, but I gave Arenado the nod because of his glove. SS is remarkably thin, with Lindor and Xander Bogaerts the only legitimate options as starter. And DH was a coin flip between Soler and J.D. Martinez, leaning Soler slightly for his power numbers.

you know I've seen the Mets be good, and I have seen them be bad. I don't think I have ever seen them be as inconsistent as they have been

I don't think I have ever seen them be as inconsistent as they have been And to me, that's a reflection on Buck's managerial moves this season. Have an everyday lineup that is uninterrupted by lefty/righty platoons. That prevents everyone from getting hot.

I think it's a lot less about the lineup and much more about the pitching; they spent the first part of the season with most of the starters on a MASH list, and the Diaz-less bullpen did a nice job keeping them afloat but definitely got tired, now the starters are seemingly getting more on track, etc. etc. etc.
The lineup has definitely improved of late, so if they can just get some level of consistency from Scherzer/Verlander/Senga and get just enough innings from the starters to let the pen's workload get normalized, I think they'll settle into a decent groove, and thankfully it seems like they might finally be getting close to that.
Or at least I hope so; I'm finally going to get to a game tonight and I want to get healthy-good Verlander to see live.

Ok, who had June 2nd in the "When does Chris Sale go on the IL?" pool?
Sucks, he was pitching well but his body just can't hold up.

Severino out there taking the beating of a lifetime. I guess when the opposition's lineup boasts a couple of ex-Red Sox players who used to tee off on him regularly, this would be the likely outcome.
On the somewhat plus side, both Donaldson and Stanton homered in their return to the lineup. A lone bright spot on what will likely be the wrong-end of an asswhpping for the Yankees.
