I just went into a near-catatonic state at work when I read this. I'm absolutely stunned. The Batman I grew up with... This sucks.

I’m trying not to break down at work right now. I just started rewatching BTAS on Monday to give myself some mental health after work and remembering Kevin’s voice basically defining Batman in my high school years was such great nostalgia. And I don’t know how to handle or process that he’s gone. Trying not to cry, to scream and not to ask why over and over.
I’ll manage I’m sure… we always do when losses come. But it will never be the same. Batman remains, as does our memories, but to never hear that voice again… hurts.

Even with the movies, Conroy is still the definitive Batman. Not only to people who grew up watching the cartoons, but the generations after that played the Arkham games too. The only reason Hamill isn't THE definitive Joker is because Phoenix and Ledger put in such good performances, but he's still pretty much on par in the public mind - I mean Harley Quinn comes from that TV show. You could easily argue it's the most influential adaption of a DC comics property ever.

That's kinda of what I thought, because Kevin was a big smoker back in the day.

I had suspected he was ill last I saw him, but that does little to numb the shock of it.

This one really hits hard. You always hear the cliche line about someone's childhood dying but in this case it feels like a appropriate response. This one really hits hard as like a lot of people, I grew up with him as the voice of Batman and as far as I am concerned he was truly the best Batman.

Before Kilmer, Keaton, Bale, and Affleck, I had Conroy. He was THE voice for Batman. Everyday at 3:00 I stopped everything to turn on Fox kids to watch Batman. I was Batman when I was in 1st grade and remember spending so much time trying to get my voice to sound like him. I had a lot of things from this show: pajamas, lunchboxes, Batmobile, Batwing, etc.
A big piece of my childhood is gone.

The GOAT. Regardless of what you think of the live action ones, his voice defined the role for a generation. Rest In Peace.

This doesn't hit me like Stan Lee did but this is still huge. A true legend and the voice of multiple generations. And to read that he was just a genuinely great guy on top of it all. Damn.

This is devastating. THE Batman. The best Batman. My Batman.
The next time Mark Hamill plays the Joker and Kevin’s voice doesn’t come out of Batman…I dunno how I’m going to react.

Gutted. I don't think it's fair to directly compare voice actors with live-action actors, but so many of us hear Kevin's voice when we think of Batman.
I'll have to crack open my BTAS Blu-ray set this weekend and watch a few episodes.
