When I think of Goldust in a team, right away I think of him with Booker T.
But for a short while he tagged with Yoshi Tatsu

Peyton Royce and Billie Kay. Then the forgettable short lived team of Peyton Royce and Lacey Evans. Heath Slater and Titus O'Neil as the short lived Slater Gator team. Both had much more memorable teams with Rhyno and Darren Young respectively. That team was during a period where I really wasn't watching much but I guess maybe they could've got over as an odd couple team. However it felt like they never had a chance to as they then quickly shifted gears to Lacey wanting to bang Ric Flair to piss off Charlotte so instead of focusing more on them as a team it just become them pushing Lacey as a singles star again with Peyton as her sidekick. I also thought it was so dumb how they apparently split the IIconics up because they had high hopes for Peyton as a singles star only to then put her right back into another team like two weeks later. According to Peyton herself, she was in a creative meeting at the beginning of that singles run and was asked “What do you like to do? What about your personality can we bring out and amplify” and she responded by saying “I don’t know. I’m kind of a boring person in real life” I could see Vince and crew hearing that and just casting the whole idea into the trash. Remember when R-Truth and Kofi were tag champions for absolutely no discernible reason

I guess it depends when that meeting was though. I was under the impression that it was more later. Months after the IIconics were split and shortly before she was released when Lacey got pregnant which kind of left of her in limbo. I did find it funny though when after it was reported and after everyone was ripping her screwing up so bad she tried to backtrack and turn it into a the "internet fabricating and blowing it out of proportion" thing. Even though she said it herself that's exactly what happened on her own podcast. You got nervous and screwed up. It happens. I actually respected her a lot more initially for being honest about it as I don't think that's something a lot of people would want to admit to. However then backtracking and trying to turn it around like that was pretty lame on her part I thought.

People always say that great gimmicks are those based on a real-life personality, just turned up to 11. But the thing is that the average person is kinda boring. There’s not much there TO turn up. It’s no coincidence that Royce’s best runs have been alongside of Billie Kay, who does have something that she can tap into to make a great wrestling character and gives Royce something to mimic and play off of.

It is kind of a dumb thing to say. I remember Alexa in an interview stating how inaccurate that statement is basically saying something to the effects of "I'm a quiet girl who likes to stay home and watch Netflix. How is that going to work as a wrestling character?". If you have a big personality then that's one thing but if you are kind of more introverted then that's not going to work. I would imagine you either have to a character that's way out there and very different to what you are in real life to give something to project or in Peyton's case have a tag team partner to play off of. With Peyton it really became apparent how underrated Billie was once they split up. When they were teaming Peyton seemed like the better all around talent and the one with far more upside. However on her own while she's someone who on the surface seemed to have "all the tools" it just always felt like there was something missing. Billie on the other hand seemed to have a much easier time adjusting on her own. I mean I think her limited in ring ability was going to prevent her from getting too far but she was still very entertaining and you think would've been someone they at least kept on as a lower card comedy character.

Bray Wyatt is probably a pretty good topic for here, too.
In terms of teams, I’d consider him most memorable as the leader of The Wyatt Family with Harper and Rowan.
He later won the tag team titles as “The Wyatt Family” with Randy Orton (and Harper was included with the Freebird rule).
A little over a year later, he won the Raw tag titles with Matt Hardy in what was pretty much a comedy team.
That’s not including his run with brother Bo in FCW, and how he was paired with Michael McGillicutty when they first joined the Nexus.
McGillicutty/Axel is another one. The B Team/Miztourage, Meta Powers, Rybaxel, Nexus/David Otunga. I also remember him tagging with Johnny Curtis a few times in early-Full Sail NXT.
Matt Hardy has a few more, too. There was the MVP team that advanced their US title feud, and I also remember a random pairing with Tatanka (as a kid, I recall them teasing a mystery partner and being pissed it wasn’t Jeff, ha).

Cesaro abnd Tyson Kidd were a far better team than such a random pairing had any business being and were in fact New Day’s first rivalry

Bad Attitude in WCW (AKA Stan Lane's exes) Bobby Eaton and Steve Keirn in cheap Fabulous Ones gear. Tom Pitchard is another Ex-Stan Lane partner in the original Heavenly Bodies. In Eaton, Dr. Tom & Keirn would've been a good Trio, in ring wise.

Scotty Too Hotty and Albert- Albert turned on Scotty because he couldn't take the dancing anymore. The next week he changed his attire to the trunks and the "shave your back chants" began. YOU MADE ME DANCE FOR 6 MONTHS

YOU MADE ME DANCE FOR 6 MONTHS Well at least Albert didn't turn heel because he was mad at Scotty 2 Hotty for setting thirst traps.

We had Jericho and Big Show.
Then Big Show and Miz.
So I guess the next likely step was Miz and Jericho right?
Don't think it even lasted one show in the long run.

I've mentioned this before, but Glenn Jacobs' actual personality* isn't "unhinged burn victim whose brother is a zombie". They tried different characters with that guy until they found something that worked, and he had a Hall Of Fame career anyway. *I don't really wanna talk about Glenn Jacobs' actual personality, though.

I’d say the team with Rhyno is easily his most memorable. But, he was also paired if with Justin Gabriel in the Nexus, Corre, and then on their own for a brief period (with that sick “Black or White” song) Ahh, Rad Bromance 😍
