if like myself it's the username (not zombie mod, that's a fan exclusive.) you've used online for damn near everything you don't want elon/twitter reallocating that username to someone or a bot that is going to ruin your reputation posting the worst imaginable shit they can, leading to people thinking it's you doing it when it isn't. (I'm not famous & never will be, but it would cause issues with employment and such if your much used username suddenly starts spouting neo nazi or worse bollocks on twitter when it isn't you anymore.) but it's a good enough reason to keep your account as long as you can without posting or letting it be hacked.

it'll be much worse for anyone who has either managed to build a large following (moving platforms instantly loses a sizeable chunk of that following.) or built a brand name for a business on twitter deleting it opens it up to impersonators far more easily who wont think twice about trying to ruin your name for shits and giggles or out of pure malice by reopening an account in your username/brand name.

there has been multiple instances of people here being targeted on twitter by a troll impersonator who would argue with the holocaust museum account and others & posting questionable porn while taunting the real person on their true twitter account. (and IF ANYONE HERE DOES THIS AND IS FOUND OUT THEY WILL BE INSTANTLY REMOVED FROM THE BOARDS.)

Indeed. I usually put words on the search bar related to my project and when I put "wrestling music" there are tons of people introducing themselves (though not related with what I was searching).

I'm not a nazi. I only got on twitter after musk took over. It is still toxic as f***, just seems like toxic on the opposite end of the spectrum it use to be toxic. But I don't contribute, just look around. It's great for news, info and a laugh.

I'm all for a new social media thing that doesn't suck though. Facebook is a graveyard. The gram comes off shallow as f***. X is a toilet. Snap is stupid lol forums are about dead.
