I'm sure one thing FAN can all agree on is that if Punk knows about it, he will have taken it with his usual class and dignity I'm sure AJ has gotten out the noise cancelling headphones.

Can’t wait for TK to No Comment his way through any and all questions pertaining to the Elite’s actions. But that’s ok, he’ll be sure to let us know Dynamite is gonna be a great show Wednesday at 8pm! They did goofy spots alluding to an event They were assaulted verbally and physically at said event and then lost three months of their careers Once again, trying to say the Elite did a wrong thing or now somehow Tony Khan needs to answer for it is outright ridiculous to me. Haha. Tony Khan has claimed that for legal reasons he’s staying silent about what actually happened at his event that was paid for and produced by him. Cut to over 2 months later and Tony Khan produced a segment on his television show starring the EVPs —who were directly involved that backstage incident that he has remained silent about— who go onto mock the others involved in that incident, directly referencing things that were reported in the press but not confirmed. Also just continuously dragging their former main star. There are plenty of questions to be answered now that he’s chosen to put this on his TV show. Completely fair game and the notion that the owner of the company who hired these EVPs, still employs these EVPs and now produces segments where these EVPs freely mock the others involved and the fight itself, shouldn’t have to answer for it when he rejected answering anything else before this?? THAT seems not only ridiculous but also petty as f***. So yeah, hopefully we’ll get a comment from the guy about it pretty soon.

Regarding the subliminals during that match, I look at it as either:
A:It actually IS building up to a Punk return and they're laying the seeds for a feud.
If that's the case it's not a very compelling story-line if they came out on TV and announce that they've all made up and their good pal CM Punk will be back to entertain all the wonderful AEW fans as soon as possible.
B: Punk is done for good and will never do business again with AEW. If that's the case I can't be mad at the Elite. If a MF-er went out at a Press conference and buried the company I helped build and then made accusations about me, and then when I went to address said employee I got sucker punched/HIt with a chair/Bit, and then I end up suspended from work for 2 months? Yeah you're going to have to take these jokes

THAT seems not only ridiculous but also petty as f***. So yeah, hopefully we’ll get a comment from the guy about it pretty soon. He couldn't answer anything before this because there was an ongoing official investigation into the matter, hence why The Elite were also suspended. That's over, and CM Punk is very clearly not coming back after his part in both the scrum and the locker room assault, at least I'd be shocked to hell if he did. The thing that The Elite had no physical part in outside of getting assaulted, no matter how hard Punk's side tried to spin it otherwise. They went to his locker room after he basically invited anyone to talk to him at any time with a lawyer after getting slandered in front of the world. I don't know what explanation you are owed by Tony Khan that The Elite are still employed or can and did some goofy spots in a match alluding to the events everyone knows about by now. They had fun with what has been a shitty situation and a hot and crazy Chicago crowd, don't see it as much more than that. And feel free to continue to think it's petty as f***, you aren't the one who got punched in the face, bitten, and got a chair to the eye, all of this after you apparently "Couldn't even manage a target". The fact all the Elite have done is cheeky spots and people try and put it on the same level as everything that happened continues to boggle my mind tbh.

I'd call the Elite "justifiably petty." Like after all the misery Old Man Phil put them through, they have every right to be trolly shits about it. Especially in Chicago with the chaotic nature of that crowd, they incorporated it into playing heel for all the people still in the Punk Cult of Personality.
And make no bones about it, they were definitely playing heel the other night. Not just the shots at Punk meant to roil up the fans he had left in that crowd, but the 3 on 1 spots, the cheap shots against Death Triangle, even targeting Pac's face and bringing out the hammer first. That made DT using the hammer themselves turnabout fair play.
Can it get old hat after awhile? Sure. But for one night I got a kick out of it. And it's not like making light of the rumors or mocking Punk's botched Buckshot Lariat is going to violate any NDA's or be lawsuit fodder. So the whole "Tony Khan will have to answer for this!" line of thought is so silly and borderline concern trolling.

Yes, that damned money mark Tony Conman is gonna have to answer for *checks notes* his wrestlers trying to get heel heat during a match.

I think it will be more interesting if they're still doing the digs at Punk from next week, which I don't think they will. Pretty sure this was a one-off Chicago thing for a crowd they knew would be hostile towards them.

Yes, that damned money mark Tony Conman is gonna have to answer for *checks notes* his wrestlers trying to get heel heat during a match. Yeah, they did literally none of this in Newark when they got a heroic reception, then they did it in Chicago when there was a contingent of fans booing them and they were clearly playing the heels. In other words, a non-story.

I love all of a sudden now that TK will be sued, or something, for the Elite playing heel in the match. I guess Punk is gonna sue TK and/or the Elite for heel antics. Like I keep saying, Elite Derangement/Punk Sycophant Syndrome is a hell of a drug.

I think what's even bigger is that you know there'll be people commenting on it with a "shaking my head" reaction or something else, as if we should all be upset or disappointed that the Elite dared to do spots that evoked the guy the crowd was screaming about and lean into it for the purposes of shaping the live reaction to their live wrestling match...and yeah, as mentioned before, each time Kenny did such a spot it bit him in the ass (Fenix giving him the cutter after the GTS gesture, PAC suplexing him after Kenny bit him, PAC kicking out of the GTS itself). Because, I dunno, we should be offended on Punk's behalf or something? Or the show is somehow hurt by them doing it? I don't know, I can't keep up with the weird leaps in logic or the demands that any of us should care. Basically, another reason to use this gif:

If you ask the Elite, they'll probably say they were mocking the reports and fan reaction to the brawl more than the brawl itself or Punk. They'd probably have a point there, too.

Wrestling has always been petty. Vince literally had skits mocking Hulk/Savage after they left.
WCW openly mocked other wrestlers.
Steve Austin and Foley’s ECW characters were literally mocking WCW.
It’s wrestling. Might as well use real life.

I can’t put them all up but people on Twitter are making Inside the NBA memes based on a potential Elite loss in the Best of 7 and it’s pretty good.

I am convinced...
Match 3 isn't even done yet. PnP right now.
If I can't have Omega v. PAC Best of Seven, then I'll kindly take this instead.

Remember when people said that this Best of 7 series would just be the same match over and over again, and wouldn't be different and great every single time??
That was hilarious.
