Chapek: I'm literally working with children here. *eats a Mickey Mouse muffin* *Goofy sits next to Chapek, dumbfounded* Chapek: If anyone wants to talk, come see me! *storms to back* *backstage sounds of Chapek and Iger getting in a fight with Chapek biting a man in a Stitch costume, while Goofy sits there stunned and Judy Hopps with security runs to the back*

Idk how much of it lead to the final decision, but him spouting off about how Adults don't care about Animation, especially if kids aren't around, had to be a death nail Disney has so many Teen and Adult fans, some of which are lifetime enjoyers of the product... you don't basically insult all of them in a public setting like that thinking you're making some kind of profound statement. You are the global powerhouse of Animation, you pissed everyone off who watches it, and even more so the people who make the damn shows and films in your own f***ing studio lmfao. Yeah, I'm 36 years old. No kids, have a massive Blu Ray Disney/Pixar collection, was a day one subscriber to D+, and still thoroughly enjoy new Disney releases. He's a damn fool if he doesn't think there is massive support for Disney products among adults, as I have many friends in the same position who love Disney animation as well

They fire him, meanwhile Rian Johnson, and Kathleen Keneddy still have not been charged for r**ing Luke Skywalker. *Inserts a South Park movie parody flashback to Deliverence*

Honestly, what probably did him in was seeing how he reacted to the Scarlett Johannsson lawsuit.
Regardless of what side you fall under on the issue, there was a way to react to it and a way not to and putting out a statement trying to make yourself seem like the good guy, the multi billion dollar corporation who could have waved it away in an instant, was pretty much Disney's equivalent of WWE's Sasha and Naomi statement. They just needed to shut the f*** up.
Like, Bob Iger ain't perfect but he at least knew he needed to keep talented people and box office draws on side rather than isolate them and have to gain back trust.

I'm in my 30s and I have Hulu just to watch anime. (Not so much these days now that I have Crunchyroll, and most of the Sentai Lineup has moved to HiDive, but I still have Hulu if I need it.)

I'm 37 and I watch Miraculous Ladybug, Owl House, and the various Star Wars cartoons. And that's just recent/ongoing shows.

I think it goes without saying I've watched and continue to watch animated shows, and have probably only gotten more invested into them and how they're made/produced as I've gotten older And given how many followers I have for animation posts and news on other social medias, this is a widely shared sentiment, and Bob had no idea who he was appealing to anymore. Completely oblivious.

I'd vastly rather watch animation than live action stuff. Very little I watch of the latter.

on the animation front... they literally just had Marvel What If? which was clearly not aimed at actual children.
