The immediacy of it has got me thinking:
What the f*** has Chapek done to cause this?

GOOD! even though it never should have happened in the first damn place.
While I did not think Iger would return , putting Chapek in charge of anything was a MASSIVE mistake and I said this on here before it really ever official to the general public.
Hopefully with Iger back (even if just for a short stay) that he can properly and better choose successor this time around.

Did NOT see this coming. Wow.
That was... fast... something must have happened... like they learned that Chapek did something that's going to break.. Chapek did something MASSIVELY unpopular with the shareholders that made the stock go down... or... uh... something else... Not going to go baseless speculating but... a CEO swap that fast usually something happened behind the scenes.

I hope this means an eventual reversal of a lot of the really stupid stuff the Disney parks have been through since Chapek was head honcho over there. It only got worse when he was made CEO.
The parks, especially since the pandemic period, have been overpriced and understaffed, with employees being underpaid and overworked on top of that. That in turn contributes to a lesser quality experience compared to even just ten years ago. More attractions being broken down more often (they are really lacking in maintenance engineers especially), the cleanliness of the parks is not even close to what it used to be, and just the general effort into the new stuff's theming feels a lot more... halfassed (I've heard this complaint especially about the Avengers campus in California; like it just seems to exist as a nice place for influencers to take pictures). On top of that you have the Genie+ clusterf***.

Chapek being ousted isn't surprising, as he's made a lot of follies. This quickly, and going right back to Iger, though? That reeks of desperation and immediacy.

Chapek has always an unqualified oaf that never should have gotten to sniff being the CEO let alone actually being it.
This is Iger coming back to fix collosal giant f***ing mistake to his legacy and again hope he does better at choosing his successor this time.
It wont surprise me if there was no big scandal here but he is just a f***ing horrible an unqualified to do this job and they got rid of him before he could do anymore damage.

Yeah, my point was going this quickly is either Scandal or the Shareholders are absolutely beyond pissed at Chapek's handling of things. It could easily be the second thing.

Whoaaaaaa what happened?! Didn't Chapek like JUST start? Appointed Chief Executive effective February 2020, according to Twitter. Fun Fact: if Roman Reigns carries the Universal Championship into WrestleMania, he will have been champion longer than Bob Chapek was CEO of Disney.

Roman's gotta use that as one of his headlock trash talk bits. "YEAH THIS TITLE RUN...I OUTLASTED BOB CHAPEK. THAT'S THE DISNEY CEO. HE DIDN'T LAST AS LONG THERE AS I DID WITH THIS."

As an accountant I can tell you it is simple as far just a simple view, the stock has not been pretty for them Their stock is priced a little more than half from what it was almost a year ago. If we go back even further to Mar 2021, it was close to $200
