Let’s drop the whole potshots thing, please. It’s all dumb and nobody who actually works for both companies cares as much as others seem to. Especially since people from each company talk to each other all the time on social media. Like, Sami Zayn recently said he missed working with Kenny Omega, for Pete sake. Kenny just posted a thing a day or two ago calling Seth one of the best wrestlers on the planet. I garauntee no one cares whose working for who as much as the fans for some reason.

Regal is class through and through.
I'm not going to get involved with any petty WWE vs AEW nonsense, but I just want to say that Regal is a great asset to either company and should be cherished.
Also that is a killer song.

I'm 99% certain that when Regal recorded that interview with Schiavone, he recorded a second one that was for Excalibur's eyes only. Regal while Excalibur watches the video: ![](https://i.ibb.co/Pjh5h5B/Screen-Shot-2022-12-08-at-4-15-51-PM.png)

It is kind of lame for Kahn to not to allow Regal to be on TV for all of 2023 as part of the release. At most, he'd be an authority figure on NXT or WWE.

Like, they’d be capitalizing off the stuff AEW built. If they didn’t do that, the response would be that they’d just be letting WWE roll all over them. Like for how messed up the 90 day clause is or the fact Renee couldn’t do anything broadcast related for over a year, the logic is there, especially in a post MNW world.

And I just had to move a post talking about something I said to put the kibosh on. That’s me being nice.
Don’t push it.

Not to mention that Tony would have been WELL within his rights to exercise the option, and chose not to as a kindness and a respect to Regal and his family.
"no appearances on TV for one year" is a pretty small demand.

I think the whole thing can be summed up as this no? Regal- Can I get a release so I can train my son? Tony- Let me deal my mom's health and the Punk/Elite investigation. *month or so passes* Tony- okay we can do that, but as compromise cannot be a TV character for remained ifnwhat we signed. Regal- Cheers and thank you Most likely yes, it's more than reasonable for Tony to add that condition to Regal's release if Regal wants to go back to a behind the scenes role. I wouldn't want WWE to use Regal as an onscreen talent for a whole year if I was letting him out of his contracts years early on compassionate grounds.

Also that is a killer song. It’s my favourite Slade song and in my top ten songs of all-time. The line “I’ve had a red light off the wrist without me even getting kissed” is one of the best things Noddy and Jim ever wrote.

It's not like Regal would be a needle mover as an on air talent in WWE so just working behind the scenes and helping develop his son and other NXT talent is perfectly fine for him.

Regal wins in all of this. I’d say AEW benefited Regal more than Regal benefited AEW. Fun moments, some good promos but the important thing is they really played up Regals portrayal that was slightly already there by the time he got fired. Now, Regal gets out, prbly gonna get paid a BUNCH and be untouchable in the current company. Give the (former) Devil his due.

Small note from Regal’s Inside the Ropes appearance, that Vince let him out of his non-compete/contract a month early so he could debut with AEW/Danielson and still paid him that month.

Do we know the new boss in NXT that Regal was calling an idiot? Very unusual he'd say that sort of thing publicly and iirc he said they're no longer in charge.
Helps explain why they let him go in the first place and nice to know Vince still looked out for him. Notable TK also let him go. Obviously highly respected by all his bosses. (Although of course treating someone with basic human decency shouldn't be notable).

I want to eat you like Phil Brooks after tearing his tricep..." I thought I was in the other thread about Punk doing gay porn in the future and was all set to write out some ass eating jokes then I realised it would be totally shorn of context
