To be fair there were like 400 pages of stuff that had nothing to do with the topic at hand in that thread Says the guy that got it locked by comparing anti-punk chants to anti-semitism. If you don’t like the thread, don’t post on it Dont bring your frustration to me after you already had this conversation in the ask a mod thread days ago... As for what you said this is the last time but I never did that at all...bullcrap... I stated that there are consequences for actions and that posting stuff to your twitter is promoting it just like the individual in question did and later said he was not doing... Your witch hunt can die here because it was never intended to be anything other than what I said. I have been here for almost 20 years, shared stories on leaving the army, divorces, a massive head injury that left me with brain damage, and even donated to the forum ...None of that merits anything but it has at least shown a few originals and mods that my intentions are never to die here by trolling in the damn aew section. on track though the most frustrating part about this is the fact that it still reads like rajah and it's pretty unclear if he is referring to projects within AEW or projects outside of. The media may end up being AEW's biggest enemy it seems.

I wouldn't think a general chat thread for some AEW fun would be a problem, but I do also think that it would do everyone and the board itself some good if that spirit found its way across multiple threads. No need to keep the fun isolated, you know? |

Especially when CM Punk is brought up? That seems like an inevitability. Fair enough if it's never gonna be reopened, but it was one of the single biggest things this board ever produced, it's just not gonna fade away that quickly. Especially when it was considered in many peoples minds an upbeat and fun thread, that has since been replaced by a lot of threads that well, aren't that on the board lately. |

Forums are not democratic. They're ideally benevolent dictatorships that will take popular opinion into consideration, but they aren't obliged to follow it if they feel it's not in the best interest of the board to do so. All things considered, IMO this place is still really lenient in terms of closing threads and dealing with problematic users compared to other forums I've been to. I've seen plenty of other forums that were far more ruthless on both fronts. |

Be nice if we could stop singling people out that have differing opinions too...
No way that is inviting to lurkers and people visiting after exciting news. This has been going on for like 2 years now and is so beyond frustrating...
We are all the same team and could all do a little better on actually trying to read what someone is trying to say instead of throwing labels and grabbing pitchforks even if the opinion is wildly inaccurate.
None of us outside of a very select few here have any real stake in any of this that we debate, whatsoever anyway, so the fact that we are doubling down and becoming the actual example of Punk's working with children bullcrap is scary as hell.
You have no idea how much i respect and appreciate the passion that even my biggest detractors display in their posts here and hell it would be nice to be invited for a muffin from time to time too

I think it would be great if Punk could return and work with Omega, mostly because I think it would do great business for AEW.

Even before all of this went down, I really didn't get the buzz around a potential Punk vs. Omega match. It's a great idea in theory to have your biggest names work one another, but what I want out of a Kenny Omega match just isn't something that's going to be delivered with CM Punk, whose work has slowed down so tremendously and who keeps overextending on stuff it was questionable he'd have been able to do when he was younger. But I think given the chance, he'd have pushed for that faster match pace out of pride and ended up looking really bad because of it. At best, I'd compare the prospect, Kenny vs. Cody, where you have all this big match drama that made for a fine match but still absolutely the lowest point of Kenny's IWGP title run. A compromise between styles that wouldn't really deliver well on either front. A fine match but nowhere near what I'd want to see from either guy.
Sort of like how Punk didn't have stellar matches with Danielson whenever they faced off. It's just not a combo that pans out well. Weak build too because Kenny and Punk's styles of building matches are so far apart that it wouldn't really feel right at all.

Some people really like to tell others when it's "their problem" or when they should step away. Would be more respectful to just ignore what you don't like or block and move on. Some people just take things differently and don't like to be told on a place for public discourse that they can't even do that right. just saying if we are giving food for thought. I am good and we are good man it's just pro wrestling after all something we all need to remember. |

Just to get it back onto Punk, I think for the sake of the guy's own mental health it would be best if he got away from the industry. My sense is that he was someone very volatile from being in wrestling again and that his own rough experiences (personal and professional) have gotten to the point where there's too much of the wrong kind of emotional investment from him to effectively function in it. That combination of love for the business and a very particular idea of how he seems himself in it (as well as how much the line between those two blurred) took him to some bad places. Throw in the heat from the scrum incident and the Elite's publicly being at the center of the company again? Too many potential landmines waiting to go off if he's involved again.

I'd be more open to him jobbing to Omega had it not been for the smear campaign on the way out, but after he did that, the ship had finally hit the ocean floor imo. I think it'd be best to move on from him.
