This is definitely a "he was right but still acted like a jerk about it." Because using real glass in any wrestling spots is really stupid. The whole "we don't do that on Collision" aspect of it smacks of being a backhanded jab at Moxley, who I am certain Punk has pent up bad blood with for the "fragile body, fragile ego" promo, but who he wouldn't dare actually call out. mox uses sugar glass.tho , in fact real glass was never used on Dynamite MAYBE on the gage match which I didn't watch. So for Punk's passive aggressiveness Dynamite never used it either

There was another issue with an AEW talent that CM Punk brought face-to-face. Towards the start of Punk’s AEW Collision run, during the Canada tapings, Jungle Boy Jack Perry was brought to Collision to film a segment, and the two had words about the plans that Perry was supposedly pushing. According to those on the side of Punk, Perry wanted to use real glass for a backstage segment. Punk was of the belief that he did this so he didn’t need to come to work the next week, which he sees as a big problem in the company. Per Punk’s side of things, Perry was going against production, doctors and Tony Schiavone advising him not to do it and them telling him that smashing real glass was a safety hazard, and Perry wasn’t happy with that. Shortly after, there were guidelines put in place and forwarded to talent of things that required clearance. Punk’s claim was that he was asked to step in and calmly said that they don’t do that on Saturdays (for Collision) and if he doesn’t like it, he could stay on Wednesdays. Word of the situation had made its way around the locker room, and was referred to as an argument. Punk's claim was that Perry was throwing a temper tantrum over the spot not being cleared and people trying to prevent it. We reached out to Jack Perry but did not hear back. We weren't told how the situation ended, but several that we heard from agreed with the stance Punk at least claimed. Fightful Mr. Workers Rights, everyone!!! Edit: Punk was right in that it's not a good idea to use real glass. Telling Jack to "Go back to Wednesdays" is just a dick move.

Maybe that's why Punk actually hates him so much? Mox is just known for better or worse as the ultraviolent deathmatch wrestler these days, and given Punk's history, if that's the direct quotation, it kind of read as a jab at him to me.

So for Punk's passive aggressiveness Dynamite never used it either Yeah, that's why there's such a huge problem in JB wanting to use real glass. Moxley's not an idiot, and even Cornette in shitting on Moxley/B&G knew it was sugar glass. There's a specific way that the glass spots Moxley does crumble when stepped on in to total dust rather than actual shards that help visually identify it as just sugar glass. Very safe, worst pain you're gonna get is if you get some pushed in and indenting the skin but it's really not a harmful addition to any spot; just like sleeping on your phone charging wire. Bog standard for wrestling with any level of production, and also for any glass that will need to be gone through/broken over someone in film and TV. Anyway this whole story reads as Punk running damage control by trying to dig up a story of him Doing It Right in the face of an actual problem with one of the Bucks' guys and it still reads like he was a condescending prat about it so great job there Punker. Punk's giving SRS something to try and make him look like more of a reader and fair but he doesn't know how to cut out his own worst traits from the stories he tells to make himself sound good.

Tbf in this particular issue, Punks completely right. Using real glass when you're on weekly TV is incredibly stupidly see Goldberg and nearly losing his arm because he wanted to look tough

Not only wanting but just about demanding real glass for a backstage bit is f***ing hilarious though.

Tony Khan needs to sit everybody down at Dynamite tomorrow night and Collision on Saturday and just quite simply go: "Shut the f*** up, all of you." He won't, but it's literally overshadowing the largest wrestling show in history right now. Punk's enemies are leaking shit about him, Punk's friends leaking shit about him being good. Everything just needs to stop. Tony's lost control.

Dirtsheet reports always manage to include these comical non-sequiturs that are delivered so tragically matter-of-fact, as if we all already knew, like:

I beg your pardon?!

Before Punk was brought back, so many people in this thread were worried that bringing him back without fully clearing the air would result in a situation where other wrestlers on the roster would get dragged into it and sides would be drawn.
And voila, that's exactly what is happening. We've gone from the Elite on one side and Punk and his boys on the other, to dragging Hardy, Nemeth, Daniels, Perry, and even Britt Baker into it. Khan really needs to get a handle on this but I don't know if can anymore, even if he wants to.

True, but Joey Janela hasn't worked Wednesdays in quite a while. I just have a hard time believing that, given that the catalyst for all of this insanity was a relatively innocuous comment Hangman man about Punk not being as worker's rights oriented as he claims to be, Punk actually just let Moxley's "fragile body, fragile ego" comments roll off his back.

Me to myself: starting now I will forget the conspiracy theory that CM Punk got a corporate job when he signed CM Punk this week: *literally sending dudes home including the head of talent relations and getting stressed out about Jungle Boy hypothetically scheming to miss a week of work*

I, for one, hope that this is the song that TK has apparently been trying to get the rights to use as Jack's theme:
