Punk attacking another one of his co-workers has done a great job of distracting everyone from his buddy hair not being punished for pulling a gu- I mean hammer on someone. Having these two scandals running concurrently is insane. People say Punk's only out for himself but he's really taking a bullet for FTR Hair here. |

If he's really not suspended, I'm back on my "Punk quits completely over some random bullshit around October 2023" prediction. My guess is that he'll probably sometime around Full Gear or Revolution demand to be given the title, Tony will probably give it to him, and then whenever he's due to lose it he'll throw a massive tantrum a week before the PPV and bounce. |

No one is suspended here imo. Someone at SI either got fed BS or misunderstood something. This will be brushed under the carpet, or Jack will take the fall because Tony still needs the Punk name and Perry isn't important in the grand scheme of things right this minute. Barrasso and Alvarez are the only ones who said both Jack and Punk got suspended. |

I can't help thinking of his fued with MJF, to most it's one of the high points in aew history. Since then both seemingly had a backstage meltdown and a creative slump, although obviously the later is subjective. However since then there's been no reports of backstage issues with MJF and creatively he's turned it around into one of the hottest runs we've seen in aew. He had 80k hanging on every move, gets massive pops from basic things like double dropkicks and double clotheslines and ended the show to a heroes reaction holding the aew title up high. Meanwhile Punk is still fighting backstage, is opening the show with a much maligned pretend title while large sections of the crowd boo him. Knowing how much the wm main event meant to him I can't help but think part of him was struggling with that difference. He saw himself coming to aew to be in that position and now he's watching a 27 year old having the equivalent moment to what he felt he was denied in WWE. Not only that but getting those reactions from essentially old school staples is what Punk is basing the whole of Collision on to less success. Something that would all be made worse to him if the reports that MJF has no interest in working with him again are true.
In defense of MJF, it honestly just seems like it was a situation where a very young talent had a mental breakdown from the weight he put on himself. I'm not saying he didn't handle it poorly, because he did, but once is forgivable. Wouldn't shock me at all if Tony Khan told him to do the job for Wardlow, go cut a promo the next Dynamite, and then get your head straight before coming back.

My take on this is that everyone was too busy with All In on Sunday to directly deal with the situation and then decided to just leave everything until they're back in the States and in a position to deal with it better. That's not excusing the lack of information because someone should have at least told Punk that it'd wait until they were back Stateside, but that's my theory.
