Especially since his fanbase seems to increasingly be made up of people who miss the days when the locker room was "dog-eat-dog, backstab anyone you can to get to the top, make sure everyone knows you're the roughest son of a bitch in the room". Which is crazy to me, because Punk got exposed as a paper tiger back in the UFC.
There's such a cognitive dissonance that I just do not understand about people who rally behind Punk as this "Keeper of the old guard, from back when wrestlers were MEN, and they were TOUGH and they knew how to FIGHT, GODDAMMIT" like he's a Harley Race type, when at best he's a mid-90's Shawn Michaels, because just like Shawn, he only picks fights against people too nice or too mature to knock his teeth down his throat, or not having the political stroke to survive doing so.
Think about it this way: Moxley, Miro, and Joe have all taken shots at Punk in one way or another that sure as hell weren't works, and you've not heard of Punk confronting them about it all. I wonder why?
It's similar to Cornette, he mostly targets those he feels safe insulting and slandering. |

I do think it's very funny that when Brawl Out happened last year, all of the dirtsheets began by being very careful about even hinting where their sources stood.
As that dragged on and went into this year and this altercation, those same writers are not even attempting to hide that they're getting stuff from Punk's side. They're not outing who, but they're making it clear of the potential bias in it all.

This is a public service announcement to everyone here, and especially to those of you who are defending Punk with every last breath you have: You don't have the right to attack someone at work because they said something bad to you. Be a grown ass adult and ignore them. Just because someone makes a comment to you doesn't mean it's ok to engage in physical violence against them. Thank you for your time. It's also a special nightmare shit just because through all the tough guy psoturing people have done and the sometimes-implications that those posts make about how people who disagree 'don't get it' is this really blind ignoring of how many people might think this is out of line because they've been in fights before. That it's not actually hippy-dippy bullshit but people who might be the victims of violent crimes, or been in fights to defend themselves, or been in fights to defend people close to them, or victims of domestic violence, or people who once were angry and got into lots of fights and then went through therapy to work through their anger issues. Lots of ways in which people can be in real fights. Meaningful fights, not just two drunks flailing around outside a bar, and come out of those life experiences going "Wow ha ha this f***ing sucks there's no excuse for this shit". |

The telling everyone in the eye part makes Hunter mabye look like a hypocrite to a point, but overall he was always spot on when it came to Punk in those Promos. Punk really seems to not get along with any Company as long things to go the way he wants them to go. |

Punk should have covered Colt Cabana's legal fees like he promised. If we're going to play the trace game, it all comes back to Punk. What tf does that have to do with Hangman Page? I highly suggest reading the original Scrum thread. I know you joined in February of this year and weren't here for it, but there's a lot about Brawl Out and the long-standing issues with Punk that you've been inaccurate and ill-informed of. |

Punk attacking another one of his co-workers has done a great job of distracting everyone from his buddy hair not being punished for pulling a gu- I mean hammer on someone. For what it's worth, I think the fact that the suspension notification came through his lawyer and not from AEW directly makes me think that Tony Khan's going to rise out of bitchalla this time and just deal with it. We'll see, but this feels different.

The Elite must feel pretty vindicated at the moment too.
They absolutely did the right thing, despite some criticising them for it, by refusing to work a program with Punk and essentially ignoring him. You can't set up and start a feud with him because any week he could meltdown, physically attack someone backstage and get suspended. And then your big feud is ruined.
He's never going to change, he's poison. If I was a big name in AEW I'd certainly want nothing to do with him.

If the company approved I ASSUME there would be safety measures. The main issue with Punk is that yeh makes sense he would want protect people from Broken Glass, but the way he reportedly(by his side) said it sounded much different than just trying to protect someone.
And again, it was an already solved backstage issue that had no reason to be brought up.
