I just cannot keep up with what's going on anymore. Bryan Alvarez tried to goad Punk into fighting Miro, but SRS was like nope, and challenged Bryan to a match at All Out. I read it on PETE SELECT so it's gotta be true! “Punk and Miro were in the closet making babies and I saw one of the babies and the baby looked at me!“

I'll never forget Rajah .com reporting Brock Lesnar was gonna be on a RAW, they were the only ones to report he'd be there, and then he was to open the show Live thread was a whole four pages freaking out about Rajah being right lmfao Oh my god just last year the ones who broke Shane McMahon getting fired was f***ing Ringside News and I had to post it on here like YEAH I KNOW THEY'RE f***ING TRASH BUT THEY'VE GOT THIS ONE RIGHT

No they aren't. As much as they get shit and get it wrong, basically the bulk of their highest traffic stuff is almost entirely Punk related. They didn't get the Vince indicted stuff for weeks and they barely bother to ask tough questions about that, so Punk is their meal ticket at this point. The vibe I've gotten is that yeah, it's money, but they also sound so exhausted of this shit after a point. Still, it's probably welcome post-Bray and Funk to have something stupid to talk about that isn't hugely tragic. I think people overestimate how much money these big stories actually get; SRS has his big scoops and if you're a FAN user you don't even need to google "Fightful patreon leaks" because we've got someone who just posts everything immediately anyway. Repost sites for the Observer have always been a thing. A good friend of mine is in the r/SquaredCircle Discord server where Nick Hausman himself actually joined to complain people were posting the content of his articles as messages and arguign with the mods about how people should go to his post so he get clicks. If he was thriving off of all this drama he wouldn't have the time to go into places wanting to get more clicks. Alvarez in particular, speaking of big players, has to deal with every twitter goob in the world and has the likes of Punk and FTR Bald whinging about him being a biased asshole in public. I don't think he's thriving here with a whole heap of new Observer subs every time something happens as much as people think he is.

In all seriousness, what's kind of gotten lost in the Perry-Punk-Glass discourse is today's revelation that Perry had cleared the "Real glass" spot on that fateful Collision weeks prior and it wasn't until the alleged day-of that Punk, of all people, objected and told him he couldn't do it.
Regardless how you feel about whether using "Real glass" is stupid or really, really stupid (a case could be made for both sides) Perry clearing something with the higher ups and then having a fellow talent being the one to tell him he couldn't do that is valid gripe. You could replace Punk with anyone else on the roster telling him he couldn't do that and it'd be just as frustrating and f***ed up.

This reminds me…I saw someone on Reddit (or should I say plebbit now that 4chan is a cited source) defending Punk because Jack Perry using real glass “ruined Stadium Stampede” because it made the “fake glass” Orange Cassidy used look “lame.” I thought that take deserved to be shared, here.

Not only that, but he specifically objected him doing it as an on-screen justification for the vacation he had already been approved for, then put him on blast for “not wanting to come to work.” And that was the curated version of the story designed to make Punk look like a heroic locker room leader.

AEW just needs to start releasing a series of instructional VHS tapes on the dangers of glass, pizza cutters, and Mindy's muffins

I would laugh so hard if the spot he wanted to do was the spot they did at Wembley with the windscreen. I doubt it was, but it would just add another layer of craziness to everything.

I dunno what else it would have been except for the Wembley spot. It's not even the first time that kind of bump has been done in AEW.

If Punk had real safety concerns he shouldn't have given him some prattle about vacations and "stay on Wednesday nights" and should have instead gone to someone higher up and gone "Hey what are you letting him do what is this" because it's not his responsibility.
