There is also the possibility Punk was a fed who slipped in to cause strife and dissension not unlike Tariq Nasheed or Bobby Knight

The only thing that brings Punk joy anymore: Lawsuits Yet another example of what a lousy Punk he is. They should bring in Shannon Moore to call him a poser.

Another thing that would have been crazy a few years ago is that it's likely Punk has retired before Sting, Daddy Ass and Jeff Jarrett. All of those have had better received final runs. Jeff Jarrett is arguably (?) more popular with the majority of fans than CM Punk. Ain't he great? Jarrett was a better MMA fighter, too.

Young Cucks is hilarious. I'm still more mature than Phil Brooks. Young Cucks is what I was calling Briggs and Jensen when Jensen was pussy whipped without the pussy. 😂

Ace Steele got to be getting shitcanned too, right? Steele is led out of arena by his replacement in talent relations, Curry Man. Ace's attempt to bite him will fail due to not being prepared for just how hot and spicy the latter is.

If this shit indeed happened on camera, then that might be part of why they're secure firing him this time but not last time. Like if it's really obvious who the aggressor is and it getting out of hand, then yeah, Punk really only has two reasons why a lawsuit would be something he'd want: To try to save face/be petty, or figuring Khan will settle with him for some cash to make it go away. But I mean, Punk doesn't likely need the money, and a lawsuit would also tie up his own time, money, and energy, and unless he wants to just retire from ever wrestling again, that's time he doesn't really have as a hot commodity with a working-enough body.
If WWE is willing to roll the dice on him, he stands to make more money when his no-compete ends than he would 2+ years from now if he wastes time in litigation he simply would not win.

Throughout the thread, I've said this and I'll say it again, do I believe at the beginning did the Young Bucks or Elite as a whole probably do things that contributed to tension? Yes. Do I believe that Tony likely should have tried to quell things earlier? Yes. But at the end of the day, there is nobody but Punk to blame for him being fired. He made it to the point where the potential economic gain just wasn't worth the drama.
AEW will be fine, Collision will probably be better as now there will be a wider range of talent on the show

I’m sure someone else mentioned this already but it must have taken these past 6 days to make sure their asses are covered legally, scouring over Punk’s contract and such. I remember someone asked on Tuesday why the ‘investigation’ was taking so long if there were so many witnesses, multiple cameras, etc.
I’m sure Punk will sue, because there’s nothing more alpha tough guy dude bro badass than litigation, and I hope Tony’s team crushes him.

HHH: I'm totally willing to give you a chance! I can be a professional.
Punk: You're making me Doink, aren't you?

Would he even have a no-compete after being terminated with cause? Or even if he did, would he even have an incentive to keep it if he's in full bridge-burning mode? Of course that's all assuming WWE would take him back in the first place, granted. (There's a part of me giggling like Newman from Seinfeld at the thought of Punk going back to the 'E driving Cody back to AEW, though I don't recall offhand what kind of a dynamic Punk and Cody had before.)

Possibly so, or they just let him keep working and fire him if he so much as cops an attitude so it can be written off as for cause, as well. That, or just give him a severance package to just go away without crying foul about retaliatory firing.

Reading between the lines it's been pretty obvious Cody isn't cool with Punk, between how deflated he was at the idea of working with him in some old video of the Elite and him making a point of throwing shots at him for no apparent reason in his AEW farewell promo.
