Nosnorb suggested that since the Rumble is in San Antonio then Shawn Michaels might be a surprise entrant. If The Rock is in, then please make these two stand toe-to-toe.

So, we could go a full decade bookmarked by The Rock ending a World Title reign that has lasted over a year. Jesus Christ. Winning The Rumble sure I can see that but hell nah is he beating Roman at WrestleMania. That would negate everything they've been doing for the past 2 and a half years just for The Rock to vacate the titles the next night on Raw.

As much as The Rock deserved to end a WrestleMania as World Champion, the time to do it was almost 23 years ago.

I have no issue with Rock coming in for a fight with Roman.
Hell, I'd probably even book it so Roman is made to put the Undisputed title up as part of the Rumble match, have him in it, enter at 29, eliminate some people then have Rock come out at 30 to eliminate him, with the Rock going over with him at the same time.
You get the title off Roman in a protected way, get to crown a new champ with a Rumble win and get your big Wrestlemania Rock/Roman fight without the belts that that match doesnt need - making Rock costing him the belt part of the story.
However, Rock returning to win the Rumble and then go on to beat Roman doesnt really achieve anything. You'd get the same eyes on your show with it just having Rock, he doesnt need a belt match or to win the Rumble. And if Rock loses, it's not only pointless but really does leave us with no where to go with Roman unless Austin has one more in him...
Granted, the biggest issue here is having such a huge roster and only 1 top belt. They need to separate those things ASAP. At least that way if they did want a Rock title match, there would still be another one for others to have their moments with.

I still like The Rock.
Him winning the Rumble would be embarrassing in so many ways, especially after his last match.
And you don’t even need to have him win to get a match with Roman! You do two night WrestleManias now! Just have Roman/Rock Night 1 after Roman calls him out for weeks and Rock shows up somewhere (The Rumble show after Roman’s title match for example) the winner defends against the Rumble winner. Easy!

After the wet fart of the Rumble last year, where pretty much everyone felt like fodder until Brock came out to win, went over, not well.
I would hope they would not try and do that again a year later with Dwayne.
Also why risk him maybe getting hurt (he got injured at Mania 29 after and that was 10 years ago) when you don’t need to?

Meltzer basically reported there had been discussion about this and then Brian Gewirtz made a joke about other crazy things that have been “discussed.” I imagine he’d know if Rock was doing it, so makes me think it’s a long shot.

Idk. When Rock was gonna main event WrestleMania 28 against Cena (and, later on, WrestleMania 29 lmao) they started building to it well over a year in advance, and he's even more famous now somehow. I really do feel like they'd have started building to it by now if it was gonna happen. But we'll see. Maybe I'll eat shit. I certainly hope I'm right.

They’d need to give him time to get back into ring shape (which is different than just bring in normal shape) as well.

I’m as big of a Rock fan as most, but it still doesn’t make logical sense. Rock/Roman would be more than enough without the titles on the line. Moreso, Roman could get the unnecessary rub of retiring him.
Hell, I think a more interesting angle involving Rock would be him going Hollywood Heel again and coaxing a tweener Roman into going along with him to Hollywood and leaving wrestling behind. I mean, that’s a real-life inevitability at this point, right?

The second they decided to not give Drew the belt(s) at Clash and create a career-defining moment, they married themselves to this. They should see it through if they are indeed getting The Rock, and having him win the Rumble to get the title shot makes the most sense and would get a huge reaction. It'd be fun to see Rock work with the modern guys a little bit just for a few spots, too.
Roman goes over at WM, gets to 1000 days over the summer, Cody beats him at SummerSlam. Alternatively, they could put Rock over at WM, and then Rock is the one that puts over Cody a short time after that. Either way they go presuming Cody is the guy lined up, it's a huge victory.

He wouldn't have to do much in the The Rumble he looks jacked like he's He-Man Master of The Universe so would just need to come out and throw everybody out. Promos certainly wouldn't be an issue. When it came down to having an actual match at WrestleMania with Roman that might be an issue workrate wise but it would be quite the spectacle.

I'd pop for it if it happened (or whatever the watching at home on TV version of pop is) but I don't see it happening.
The story makes so much sense and the crowd would go crazy but Rock is just so busy. I don't know if it's accurate but I'm sure I read something recently about Red Notice 2 & 3 being filmed back to back in early 2023. Right away if that was the case I don't see how working Wrestlemania or the Rumble is possible.

Including Bray Wyatt beating John Cena by evil child... could you imagine if they did something so stupid... >_>

Also if Cody comes back at the Rumble. That should be played as a huge deal.
Having The Rock come in on the same show really cuts the legs out from under Cody immediately.

The Rock is whatever, if he's facing Roman after this push, you can't turn around and have him take the belt.
But at the same time, putting the belt on either Cody or Sami isn't building the future considering both men are the same age as Reigns. That's a lateral move at best.
