RIP to a genuinely hilarious woman. From Cheers to Drop Dead Gorgeous, she was a comedic force wherever she appeared.

Alley never got the credit for how good she was as a dramatic actress; the performance as Saavik in Wrath of Khan is just example of how talented she could be.
RIP.

From Cheers to the Look Who's Talking movies, she was a big presence in my childhood. I'm not going to say this death is hitting me hard or anything dishonest, just, obviously she had a very successful career for decades, so her legacy's ensured.

I haven’t watched them in years or heard anyone talk about them ever, but I recall the Look Who’s Talking movies being pretty damn funny

A very talented star in the 90's. I remember her peak was so high that after Cheers went off the air they gave her a new show shortly called Veronica's Closet.

One of my first crushes as a 10 year old kid. Probably a better comedic actress than she’ll ever get credit for

Not an amazing run by any stretch of the imagination, but probably enough to be considered a minor success, and was enough to get it shown in reruns to an extent.

Yeah for a show with such a short shelf life, I was surprised to see in it syndication by 2002-2003 already. And at least it lasted longer than the Joey show.

Don't agree with everything she said, but an iconic comedian for sure.

Seeing this thread I was like what. Loved her on Cheers. Didn't realize she was 71 I always think of her still as Rebecca.

Had no idea she was in her early 70's, but seeing as Cheers started airing a year or so before I was born, I'm not surprised. I also thought her name was "Kristie" for the longest time when I was young.
I can't say I saw too much of her work outside of Cheers and a couple movies, but I did find her entertaining.
RIP.
