A big part of my adolescence; she was on my television each week as my parents watched Cheers, and as I’ve grown older I’ve got to appreciate her comedic talents. Cheers is shown here in England still, so it’s nice to be able to remember her as she was.
Sleep well, Kirstie. Thanks for the laughs.

Look Who's Talking might be my first favourite Live Action film. Those movies, and by proxy, her were a big part of my early childhood.
RIP.

She had her work cut out for her when she was brought in to replace Shelly Long on Cheers, but after kind of a rough start, she established herself well and helped maintain the show's success for another 6 years.
It's insane that she's just the second regular cast member to die after Nicholas Colasanto, who died back in 1985.
I was hoping for years they'd do a one off reunion special, but unfortunately it never came to be.

Needless to say, before she was famous, she went through the game show circuit in the early 80s...appearing as a contestant on Match Game and on Password Plus.
(I now wonder...was she ever brought back to either as a celebrity? Don't think any Password. Maybe the recent 2010s Match Game on ABC?)

Ugh, it was only yesterday I was cringing at those clickbait ads talking about how 'hot' Kirstie Alley has become again, eff them, and every media entity that decided to fill their pages with her struggles over the years. She was a big part of my childhood years through Cheers and her movie work, and I admit had a slight crush on her back in the day.
Rest in peace, Kirstie.

Will always be Virgillia Hazard to me. She killed it as a delusional, crazy abolitionist. Her Philadelphia address was something to behold.

Don’t really know much of any stuff she was in since the early 90s with the exception of Drop Dead Gorgeous, which I love. She’s great in it (even if Alison Janney steals every scene she’s in) playing the psychotic pageant organiser. RIP

Apparently she had colon cancer and she didn't even realize she had it until it was way too late.

Gene Rayburn was super creepy when she was on Match Game. If he had created the show I see him pulling a Vince in mid 2000s when the divas and he had a skit.
I personally liked the older era Cheers and thought the Diane/Sam relationship was great but she came in and it was so awesome and helped them do another 6 years. It's awful that this happened. 71 now is so much younger than 71 was when we were younger.

This has been a rough couple months for celebrity deaths huh? I know people always say that but for me its been ones that actually hit for me rather than people I barely know. Kristie hits less hard than David Frank and Conroy but it still sucks. Loved her on Cheers and as Savik (two totally different sides to acting as well).

I thought Rebecca and Sam had the better chemistry. I don't mourn a lot of celeb deaths but this one does hurt as I did really like her from what I saw on TV. RIP Kirstie.

She was partially responsible for you know how babies got made and probably introduced you to The Beach Boys too. What’s funnier than sperm racing along to “I Get Around”? Nothing if you’re 35ish.

R.I.P. I remember Dad constantly watching Cheers during my childhood so I remember her mostly from that as well as her role as Saavik in Wrath of Khan. Like others have said, I didn't realise she was in her 70s.
