All the stuff he could make into NFTs is owned by WWE so I’d say if he could without getting sued, he would. "It's called BroCoin, get on it." 6 Months later after it fails; "Bro, it was the boys in the Lockerroom not liking my ideas and the Standards and Practices of the Bitcoin industry wrecking my ideas, bro!" "Vince, there aren't standards in Bitcoin, that's the main iss-" "AND DON'T GET ME STARTED ON THE BITCOIN BROS, BRO!"

The only thing keeping Russo out of cryptocurrency scams is likely just that he both doesn't understand them himself, and isn't connected to anyone who does. Celebrity crypto scams either come from sponsorship spots where the celeb either doesn't vet it or doesn't care if it's a scam and inflicts that on their audience, or they're in-house but with some connected stooge who does the legwork. Russo has too little footprint for the former and he's so outrageously toxic that nobody will play the latter for him. He wouldn't know who to talk to to set it up or how to pay them to do it, maybe even get scammed in the process, and that leaves him trapped podcasting with goons desperate for attention. Podcasts are the easy wrestlegrift for guys like Russo and anything else takes finesse and smarts he doesn't have.

Random thought....I am shocked Russo never came up with a women's tournament called the "Diva Cup."

Random thought....I am shocked Russo never came up with a women's tournament called the "Diva Cup." I feel like those came to prominence well after he was done booking anything of consequence, or while he was at TNA and would be avoiding the word Diva if at all possible. But he totally would if he could get away with it, provided he knew the reference (not a guarantee).

Considering it never occurred to him to do something as simple as have two women in a First Blood match, with one competitor dumping out the other's purse to produce a pad or tampon to argue the ref should call for the bell, doing a gag any more of a deep cut than that would be beyond him.

Supposedly the whole thing was a scam he and Jeff Jarrett cooked up so he could get out of his old Time Warner/WCW deal and jump to TNA. He would get the WWE to buy out his contract with TW, show up in WWE pitching the worst ideas imaginable, quickly get fired, then show up in TNA. I question this as at no point has Vince Russo ever been able to show the ability to differentiate between his bad ideas and his few good ideas (and yes, he's had some, he's just very bad at following through on them).

Yeah, I don't believe that since it would require Vince to have even a modicum of self reflection.

Friend or not why on earth would you intentionally get yourself fired and likely blacklisted from the company that just secured a virtual monopoly in order to get on board with an unproven startup that by that point was already hemorrhaging money?

Considering multiple parties have said Vince thought he'd have more control when he came in and that's what caused the issue I don't buy that either

I love how both sides of this possible argument rely on Vince Russo not being an absolute f***ing moron with any sense of self-awareness. The probable truth was that he was finally free from the Warner deal, he was dumb as shit as a writer, so he got fired and got hired by the start-up ran by his political ally who needed an injection of legitimacy while looking for investors.

So, I read the latest column so you don't have to, and yeah, it's not even halfway "explaining" the story of the DX "tank", it's just him masturbating over the fact that it was his idea and "They actually got a rocket launcher, bro!". Oh, and also taking shots at Bruce Prichard for taking credit for the angle after the fact.

I think that's the last one I'm reading. The point of the column, by the name, is Russo explaining what we didn't understand about an angle, and he's literally done that once, passed the buck three times, and then didn't explain what we got wrong about the Howitzer jeep, just patted himself on the back so hard you can see his fingerprints on his shoulder blade.

Like I said, someone more self aware would laugh about how it went down and explain the backstory of it and how WWE loves to hype the thing as an invasion when it was them doing stuff the day before and they were cowards to actually do anything considering the lawsuits from both sides.
Instead we get him taking credit for it? Why would you take credit for that?
