Here is a list of non American actors who have played the President of the Untied States (either a fictional President or a real President). Daniel Day-Lewis (UK) Bruce Greenwood (Canada) Michael Gambon (UK) Alan Rickman (UK) Jonathan Pryce (UK) Ben Kingsley (UK) Leslie Nielsen (Canada) Donald Pleasence (UK) Peter Sellers (UK) Alan Dale (New Zealand) Charlize Theron (South Africa) I'm fairly sure Daniel Day-Lewis could convince me of being from anywhere with his abilities.

Borat is not really from Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan The scene of his village was actually a Romani village in Romania. And they were pretty pissed when they learned about how they were portrayed. .....granted, since there was a shot of a kid playing with an AK-47, I don't know what they expected.

Sean Bean plays a living human 90% of the time when he's actually a ghost.
(this is a joke post obviously.)

Aside from being the French Inspector Clouseau, Peter Sellers was also the Chinese Fu Manchu, the German Fritz Fassbender in What’s New Pussycat and the Indian Hrundi Bakshi in The Party.

I'm assuming you're talking about Escape From New York. While he plays the US President, he uses his regular British accent. Pleasance himself played the role as British, reasoning that in the world of the movie Britain had reformed the British Empire and made the US a colony again.

Gillian Anderson's a real head trip for this subject.
She's bidialectal and can both consciously and unconsciously switch between British and American accents and doesn't consider either one to be more dominant than the other.

Comic book characters: Jewish/Romani Film characters: Vaguely Eastern European (it varies, they have Hungarian cuisine, but the real counterpart to their war was one of several from the 90s or 00s) Actors: Jewish Brit, and Norwegian American with the worst Russian accents you've ever heard.

I was surprised that Hugh Laurie was British. Same with Janet Montgomery from New Amsterdam.
These aren’t shocking or whatever, but I did find the portrayals funny.
Daniel Craig as Benoit Blanc in Knives Out.
Off the beaten path a little bit, but Jacob Tierney and Jonathan Torrens playing French Canadien announcers in Shoresy.

I kind of felt Sokovia was a stand-in for Serbia.

I tapped out of Amazon's Citadel halfway through episode 2, the big budget had clearly gone on hiring the most famous Indian woman in the world rather than quality script writers or CGI but Robb Stark is one of the leads and his American accent sounds so weird like how Americans spoke forty or fifty years ago. I was reminded of speeches by GHW Bush when I heard it. I wonder if he had a senior citizen as an accent coach.

I’m an Egypshian, I jusht shound Scottish I always figured he was so old and lived so many places he had become a natural mimic when it came to accents and languages. So when he travelled to Scotland he basically became Scottish. That was similar to the explanation for McLeods strange accent modern day. He had lived so many places his accent was mixed and unusual. Of course that doesnt work when he had the same accent in flashbacks before he ever left Scotland.

Leonardo di Caprio was one of the few actors who managed to play an Anglo-Southern African character without affecting a silly cartoon Afrikaans accent when he fairly convincingly played a Rhodie mercenary in Blood Diamond. And staying in Africa, you had Kevin Kline and Denzel Washington play Donald Woods and Steve Biko in Cry Freedom.
A special mention though for Leonard Nimoy, who played multiple different nationalities in one role here:

The fact that he didn’t look remotely Egyptian and stood at least 1-1.5 ft taller than the average person from his initial time period bothered me more.

Better than them giving him the shoe polish treatment though.
