At least they overcame their longtime nemesis The Challenge.

I imagine that's got to be seen as a win.

Last night's ratings...Not ideal compared to the clip show (near even in demo...few hundred K below in total viewers) but still the new production should help in 2023

I imagine that's got to be seen as a win. Yeah if i am not mistaken RAW broke even so AEW can show overall growth even if the recent shows have been back and forth.

The bells of Christmas have ended, but the bells of doom now toll in their stead. The winter has only begun for AEW, for just like the great traitors of history--the assassins of Julis Caesar, Ptolomey, Judas Iscariot--a death for AEW shall send it to the Cocytus, the ninth circle of The Underworld, where it shall know only the gnaw of endless cold and the the beating of Satan's wings. Another week, another denial of your mudshow's the chilly end it was condemned to from birth!

Good to see, Non bait question; DO you think they can ever crack 1m steadily?

Good to see, Non bait question; DO you think they can ever crack 1m steadily? It's kinda hard for them to I feel because there are always things that pre-empt or push them to different days which can just wreck viewership for a few weeks, it's not really their fault it's just how things are with sports especially I think their sweet spots are in the middle of the year, that like 7 straight weeks with a million is something I think they can easily attain, and attain in other parts of the year depending on their competition They just need to keep momentum, and growth has proven to follow when they get something that captures the eyes

Good to see, Non bait question; DO you think they can ever crack 1m steadily? It's going to get tougher and tougher as we move forward: cord cutting ain't slowing down. It's very notable to me that Dynamite saw an overall increase year-on-year in viewership, but a dip in the target demo, which seems in line with who's not watching cable much anymore (though obviously those ratings are percentages, not raw numbers). Still, with the right storyline hook they can probably do it for awhile; given all the injuries and drama in AEW's main event scene in 2022 it was pretty tough to get something on the level of Hangman's ascension going, and sometimes to get to one of those target numbers you need that one main event plotline that people will go out of their way to follow.

Good to see, Non bait question; DO you think they can ever crack 1m steadily? To me their best chance was when they signed Punk, Danielson, and Cole and they couldn't sustain it so I don't think they ever will. Not a knock against them, I just don't think that will ever be the norm for them.

Good to see, Non bait question; DO you think they can ever crack 1m steadily? Unless something drastic happens that draws major attention then they seem to be settled in ...which isn't a bad thing... They just aren't the competition they have alluded that they were when convenient.. They are the best alternative and that is a godsend to have.

At this point the difference of viewership being like 500K or less varying in the week live with Monday Night RAW is nothing when things like DVR and later viewing is factored in
I have to think that the Network is thrilled and that overall AEW did a good job this year through some major speedbumps
They should be very happy with the momentum they're carrying into January I think, hell for WWE the new year should be looked at as a clean slate too, hopefully.

Does anyone report DVR+3 and +7 numbers regularly. Live viewership, especially for demo, is important for ad rates and how much AEW and WWE can make in negotiating rights deals. But as far as how big your actual audience is, it's kind of a fraudulent number. Especially for cable based shows like Raw and Dynamite where cord-cutting is still a factor and a lot of those people watch their wrestling content through other means.
I thought I read somewhere that more than half of Ramapge's total audience watches it on DVR. Which means Rampage could get around a million viewers regularly, give or take 200k or so. It just says more about the crappy timeslot than Rampage's usual quality or lack thereof.

My God, reading other places' takes on these ratings, I'm fairly convinced a lot of wrestling fans live in a parallel reality.
See, apparently the Best of Seven is "masturbatory" and driving down ratings, and MJF needs to be a major presence on every Dynamite if he's champ, and zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

They’re not within 500K of Raw. Raw averaged 1.758 million viewers in 2022, so there’s about an 800K difference on average.

Good to see, Non bait question; DO you think they can ever crack 1m steadily? If Punk comes back they could. Otherwise it would take an act to get very hot. Maybe MJF can do that but he’s not there yet. Theoretically, as long as Raw can get in the 1.8 mil range, Dynamite definitely can get 1.

Should be noted just because they aren't hitting average millions, segments are still hitting over a million, so stuff is drawing and garnering interest within the show.

The hottest act in the company at the moment is The Acclaimed, but at the moment they are working with Slap Nuts and Jay Lethal, not exactly opponents worthy of a main event feud. Hayter still hasn't officially turned face despite everyone wanting her to. As for MJF, dude should have feuded with CM Punk for the World Title and maybe then he would have gotten hot enough, but instead now has a program with Danielson. Don't get me wrong, Bryan is one of the greatest of all time, but he hasn't won on PPV since last year against Rusev. He's not going to be able to heat up MJF enough. Love to be proved wrong, but getting ratings over one million consistently is a big ask considering the turmoil of the main event scene over the past year.
