2. Dead Space (remake)
I never played the original Dead Space so this was all new to me. By and large I thought this was great - extremely tense atmosphere and very enjoyable combat. I was amazed that the game generally gave me lots of ammo and health (though not enough to be overflowing with either) and yet still managed to be scary. Focusing the combat on dismemberment and smart shooting reminded me of House of the Dead of all things, and that's definitely a positive in my book. There were a few sections which I thought overstayed their welcome and one or two enemy types that were more annoying than enjoyable to fight. But overall I had a blast.

12. Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest
Not counting the Lost World because that is way too much of a grind for me to bother with right now.
I have mixed opinions on this game? I feel like in terms of creativity of level design, mechanics, and overall presentation it has way more going for it than the first game... but it often just feels brutally cheap in some of the choices it makes, especially a lot of the very gimmicky levels toward the end, and actually 100%ing it is waaaay too much of a drag. It's not to Donkey Kong 64 levels but we wouldn't have gotten there without getting here, y'know?
I dunno. I feel like if I really set my mind to it I could find a lot more of an appreciation for it, and there is still a lot I like about it, but it's nowhere near as pick-up-and-play as the first game and even as difficult as Tropical Freeze can be I feel like it's more fair about it than this game can be.

2. Stray (PS5, physical)
Just fancied a quick one this time so banged this out today, fantastic short indie game. £30 is expensive for a six-hour game but it's so well-made I don't begrudge it whatsoever.

4. Dex This was on offer for 89p in the Nintendo eshop and since I had credit I got it for free. A pretty good side scrolling cyberpunk adventure with RPG elements with lots of side missions and some very good voice acting. Can be quite tough at first but once you level up your skills and get some cybernetic improvements then it really kicks off.

13. WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$
It's WarioWare, not a lot to it but generally pretty fun. First game's an odd one to go back to, between how disconnected from each other the cast feels and mainstays from later games like Ashley, Young Cricket, and Penny being nowhere in sight, but still definitely has its charms. Feels kind of slow-paced compared to a lot of what came after it funny enough.

1) Uncharted 4- First time playing this. Stressed my girlfriend out playing it with all the close calls lol. Fantastic ending to the series and incredible game all together.
2) Midnight Suns- As a fan of X-Com 2 I wasn't sure how much I'd enjoy this but holy crap it's addicting. Story is so-so and the hero worship for the Hunter gets grating, but definitely worth playing.

Don't mind as I got a physical copy of it

14. Kirby's Dream Land
On my way to a dentist appointment where I know I'm getting bad news so needed something to take the edge off and Kirby delivers.
It's a game that very much shows its age between the lack of copy abilities and the awkward jumping but I'd probably rather play it than quite a few others in the series just due to being very breezy and to the point compared to how many of them can be kind of slow and bloated. It's certainly not the best game in the series but it is a nice way to kill an hour.

The List {Spoiler}1. Yakuza Kiwami 2 2. Super Mario World (replay) 3. Hue 4. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (R) 5. Mafia: Definitive Edition I thought I had played the original version before, but it must have been the second one. Love it being set in the 30s, things like this always get bonus points from me if they don't do the standard modern American city setting. A little clunky at times, but I imagine the original was worse and I think that they brought in the aiming and cover system from the third game, which was appreciated. One thing they thankfully didn't bring in from the third game was the glitches, it was mostly free of them. I got stuck on scenery once and had to restart the checkpoint, and the only other one was a 'clear the room of goons then follow the boss guy outside to start a car chase' type mission. I cleared the room, ran to the next (which lead outside) and the boss was just standing there. After making sure I couldn't just kill him there, I ran outside anyway and that triggered the next part.

15. Pokemon Puzzle League
This time around I felt like taking on Very Hard. Took a lot of trial and error and feel like I got lucky more than once along the way but hey, pulled it off and feels satisfying. ... Maybe I'll try Super Hard at some point but it's not going to be for now.

16. Mario Kart: Super Circuit
Counting winning every non-ported-from-Super cup as beating it since hey, credits rolled. In general I kind of feel like the turning in a lot of the old Mario Karts can feel pretty wonky, definitely find myself missing the precision of the later games, but still certainly fun when you get into the groove with it.

3. Resident Evil Village: Winters' Expansion
I dunno whether this really counts as its own video game or not, but screw it, I'm counting it. Just beat Shadows of Rose earlier today; very much enjoyed it even though it's rather short (beat it in just under 3 and a half hours). There's one part that is up there with the baby chase from the base game as the scariest moment in the entire series. The Mercenaries stuff has never really been my thing though it's fun to mess around with. All in all this was a good way to wrap up the Winters' story; here's hoping the RE4make turns out more like 2 and less like 3.

17. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
I did a run-through of it as a kid, was the first of the games I really got into (though I did play 3 first) and have long wanted to revisit it but just never got around to it. Figured them being about to remove the remaster from PS Plus was as good a reason as any to do a run of it, much like I did of 3 last year, so hey, done that.
It's definitely an immediate and obvious improvement on 3 in quite a lot of ways, though a lot of its design does feel very archaic compared to the games that came after it. Definitely had fun revisiting it though, even if it wasn't exactly the ideal way to play the game. Do think it kind of wears out its welcome with all of the property stuff you're required to do to beat the game though; it'd probably help if they introduced it earlier in but it's so backloaded that there's really barely any of the main story even left before you can start getting involved with that whole aspect which means for the latter end of the game that's really all you're doing.

Hi-Fi Rush I guess. I have hated platformers since Manic Miner. I lasted until the second platform section in this game.

5 Kirby and the Forgotten Land
This was a really good 3D platformer that was alot of fun. It was very easy though with only 2 bosses (including the final one) giving me any sort of challenge. However I imagine trying to get all the secrets and hidden tasks would be a different matter altogether.
